Help Printer Issue

So, I plug in my printer to my PC (USB, tried various slots). The PC makes the 'dah-duh' noise, as is its want when you connect a new device. However the device isn't showing up in the tray (neither the connecting graphic, or when its connected) or when i ctrl+P.

The printer itself seems fine, as its prints test pages no bother and doesn't have any questionable lights or anything.

edit - also: drivers installed, windows 7 x64, used the printer before no problems, printer is HP Laserjet 1015.

just noticed that the printer appears in devices & printers as an 'unspecified' device

fixed it, close thread.

uninstall drivers then plug it back in if anyone has this problem.
