I knew it would be a drubbing but this takes the piss. The referee hasn't got a clue, stupid twat.

Well listening to what Alan Green on Radio 5 live said about the Friedel and the Torres incident, I have to agree. That judgement by the ref was very harsh. Even Greeny said it wasn't a penalty, and if he says it, then it wasn't. Dumb ref :(

Torres just ran into him. Heck he was throwing himself over before he even hit Friedel. Where is Friedel supposed to go ffs?! All because of the FSW's ranting about Liverpool 'never getting penalties'.

Yea, but i feel sorry for Friedel as I just found out that this game will now be his last premier league game in his career, so yea, it really does suck for him now. And btw I am a Liverpool fan just fyi, was needless, had the penalty not even been given, the game was in effect over and the ref should have used his judgement a little better tbh.

Said way before that penalty that referee is poor, and he showed it there. Friedel kneeling down, tried to move out the way but he was planted and torres purposely ran into him. Rediculous decision to send him off.

As for my closet liverpool comment, it in regards to the fact there hardly a post by a Liverpool fan throughout this whole thread since it was created in January, until the point they suddenly started to win again (afteral you been poor since the new year). Once they start winning a couple it full of cocky posts about how Liverpool gonna win everything now. Where were the posts during the time they were doing poor, as i couldnt see any.

Both Man Utd and VIlla need this international break to try sort their acts out, if united dont beat Villa in a fortnight then they going to find themself looking at throwing away the title like they did back in the day a decade or so ago.

Cant remember what Liverpools run in is like, but i know united got 3 games they will seriously decide where the title goes, first one being the villa game.

Hardly cocky, look at the home record, ok the wins haven't been consistent at home, but the losses are almost 0, only team we lost to at home this season so far has been Spurs.

In my case, it's more excitement than being cocky, after all, it makes the run in to the end of the season far more interesting than just simply giving the title to man u on a plate. Not any of the posts I made have made any reference to winning anything if you bothered to look, indeed I have been understated with anything that I've said save for this weekend.

You should be grateful that it isn't won yet instead of moaning about me and a couple of scousers saying this and that. And if you want a biased comment from me, then yeah, sure I would like to see Liverpool win it this season, it would make a pleasant change.

Excellent, 3 points already and we haven't even played you at Anfield (it's the last game of the season), we beat you (twice) at WHL though

look at gohan comment about how you are winning the double and that chelsea are next etc. That the cocky post example im refering too.

Dont mind people saying that they think they got a chance to win, but the fact they dont say anything when doing poor just makes me laugh at their ability to support the team throuhg thick and thin.

Credit to liverpool for their recent form and results, but i still think that the club has work to do and that your manager is an idiot that needs to actually research his "facts" :D

Haha, well given the game against Chelsea yesterday, I am not surprised at Harry Redknapp's reaction. I distinctly remember when he took the job and he got his first win and then he got us and a couple of other top teams and he was rubbing his hands at the chance. Rightly so, and I bet he's thinking like that again given now that Keane is where he belongs - not having a go at the lad, he tryed hard for us but it just didn't work out :(

Can't take anything away from Liverpool in the last 2 weeks, 13 goals and 1 conceded in last 3 games against Madrid, Utd and Villa.

Problem is with them there is always a Boro result waiting around the corner.

Just goes to show how stupid the bookmakers must be feeling now after paying out on Utd winning the league a few weeks ago.

I cba with Rafa half the time, good manager but everything he says it's like someone's been playing Summer nights the 7" single on continuous play for like ever :( boring.

I have made comments about poor form with my team in this thread, and I have always stated that I think it's gonna be Man U that will win it, but I would like to see this change. I agree with the comment about got work to do. Reading Alan Hansen's recent column on BBC, (like him or not) I agree that the gap has been closed now, and it's not such the great gulf between the teams it was in recent years. We used to struggle to get a top four place, now it's not the case, but title ambitions? It's gonna happen sooner or later, we've waited this long, another year won't make a difference.

Liverpool are almost the finished article. I would say a world class winger and forward and you have got a team good enough to win the title. However I think that he also needs to find some good players for the bench and someone with the quality to let Gerrard get a rest/covered if injuried. Gerrard is the heart of the team and it is always to clear how poor you can look without him playing.

If rafa could keep his mouth shut i would have more respect for Liverpool, or if he made his whining more humourous like Jose then least it be worth him opening his mouth. But he just an annoyance and makes me dispise liverpool even more.

I got faith in United, and even with our usual poor start the season i still knew we could come back at Liverpool, but i always had the feeling that we could end up not taking the title this year, just was something i couldnt shake. Thought it be Chelsea I was worrying about not Liverpool.

Managerial changes to Chelsea's set up have proven that the Big Ollie A sitting at the back and wanting to control and possibly even manage the team on his own have back fired badly on Chelsea. The Mourinho factor was certainly the biggest influence on the team and after that went, so did Chelsea's influence on the prem.

I agree about the Liverpool bench players, and that's certainly something that Hansen pointed to in his recent article. Dossena certainly has surprised with his recent form on the pitch but is it good enough? No, nor is Lucas. You ask any Liverpool fan what they think about him and they will more than likely laugh first before they say anything, guy is a joke imo.

Hansen's column is here :- BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | L | Liverpool | Alan Hansen's column

There's nothing there said that I disagree with.

With regard to what has been said about Gerrard, well there's talk now on the radio about him being the world's best player at this moment in time and people are calling in and saying that only Messi is near or better than him now. Personally I'd prefer to ignore that and get the team up there and staying up there with the best of them.

We did play some of the season without Torres and Gerrard, we coped and in some cases did well, so the team is functioning and getting the mark of what you referred to as the finished article. But the questions of what if they had been available if no injury this season and what would have happened will linger in the summer if we win nothing this season. What people don't mention is that they are inevitable and a team's fortunes rise and fall on those in itself. Newcastle and Everton have been in recent seasons a prime example of that paraphrase - regardless of the strength and depth in the team.

What we can now say is that the end of the season is going to be at the very least exciting and for that I am grateful.

Why did chelsea's influence on prem end after mourinho left?, we got to final of CL las year and came very close to winning prem league, also this season we only 3 points behind liverpool, Why is it all of a sudden just a two horse race? . Man united have shown its possible to lose so its not unlikely liverpool, chelsea, man united will have more twists and turns before season over. We all still need to play arsenal yet.

chelsea seem short on ideas when the going gets tough, i think they really need a robinho like player up top, i think being at chelsea would see him even doing better in the away matches as well.

Chelsea need one more player that can work a bit of magic near the last 3rd of the pitch. Deco looked like he would be it, but after a good start he disappeared and left the same problem. Without anelka having figured out the goal isnt the size of a barn door and actually scoring Chelsea would been in serious trouble during the time of drogba's sulking.

Do feel sorry for anyone that takes the chelsea job, but i think Hiddink was always the guy that abr wanted for the position so be interesting to see the development.

Dunno, we are out of the FA, perhaps that rest is the telling factor in our recent form. Chelsea's form has been just as indifferent as the top three tbh. But personally, he should still be at Chelsea and not Milan. But there ya go, all history now and what if's are for summer out of season conversation :p

If we hadnt performed so badly and lost to spurs everyoen would be raving that we could win the title as much as liverpool. However we looked like we didnt want to for most of the game. Until we conceded nobody seemed to give a shit (happened a few times this season) and even then they werent trying that hard.

Bit of a shame that the ref missed corluka's handball save on the goalline but that's football.
