If any experienced LIVE players could help me out with this one as its annoying me.
I am interested in a hand I played last night at a live tournament.
I had A 9 Off to start and I was on the button, I called the blind and the small blind next to me called the blind also, there was no raise from BB.
Flop comes
9h 3s 4h
Flopped top pair with top kicker, Original small blind bets 600 (3x bb i think) and rest of the table folds. Now the player was what I thought at the time an average player, I looked for some tells and all his tells from previous info I had gathered showed weakness (I was right) So I re-raised to 1200 expecting to see him off and not putting him on the draw (As I would expect him to check)
He called and the turn came:
3(h)
At this point I put him on something like J 9..he went all in.
I took a while to call and my reasoning was such:
No raise on the first round of betting ruled out Pocket 10+'s (IMO for this player) plus, the bet on the flop in my opinion meant he was not on a draw. Now I thought with the low flop he could be playing something like pocket 6's hoping I didn't hit a 9 or was on a draw (Although a re-raise would be a stupid move on my part).
Anyway I was putting him on j9 or mid pocket pair.
I called.
He turns over K 3 off and has trips.. I have a nut flush draw but the river doesn't bring me any joy.
I would have never in a million years put him on a 3, if someone re-raised my bottom pair I would expect to fold it.
Did I do something wrong or did I just get fished?
P.s also when I asked him if he thought I had nothing, he said " I thought you had something but I had 3's with an ok kicker...)
