Don't hold your breath m8. :(

One of CE's healers was repairing her epic boots (AC = +800) and had an LD. The following is a response from the "customer friendly" guys at GOA:

I'm afraid we cannot do anything about this. We cannot give you the lost item. In the near future however, it will be possible to craft better equipment than the rewards from the epic quests, so all is not lost.

Please note that you do not have to drop items on the ground to repair them. This can be done in the tradewindow of the person who is to repair your items (unless youre the smith yourself ofcourse).

I wish I could help more.

Wouldn't be surprised if you get a similar response. Please keep us informed - it would be nice to know that someone at GOA actually gives a damn if you get a result.

Hope that didn't cause too much hysteria, Lonewolf? ;)

Latest patch finally fixes that 'bug'.

You can finally repair stuff in your own backpack.

The issue is not the repair (you can always pass the item over to someone else and they can trade it back while you repair it) - the issue is an unwillingness of GOA to help. Peeps who had epic quests bugged had them sorted. Peeps who lose epic armour through unfortunate circumstances should have recourse....and smarmy comments about "soon to have better equipment" when "sooner" means AFTER the SC patch and AFTER there are high level spellcrafters around with the ability to make these items (anyone like to hazard a guess as to how "soon" that will be?) doesn't help. And we won't even go into the "cost factor" for Tdaer of making a full set of epic-comparable armour when this is possible.

Hmm... well if ye've been handing your account password around left right and center and it's obvious you've been doing that then they might not try to fix it... kinda the risk you take if you hand it out.

That is if you have been doing so and it's not just Khalen stirring things up of course.

Best of luck....

You can get your character back, but only so long as you havent rolled up a new character in that same slot, the moment you make a new character in that slot it will over-write the back-up copy of your character and then nobody will be able to help you.

Use rightnow and nag them like hell, they occasionally restore some high level characters that get wiped, but whatever you do, don't make another character in that slot or your screwed.

On the other hand I think you killed me in Odins the other week, but im being helpful anyway as im a nice person :D

I could be wrong but when they do restore I think its usually without items.

feel sorry for ya ... if i had a high lvl wiped i dunno what i would do ... prolly delete someone lower lvl that i have and start over.

and i second it, do not make a new char in that slot!

I know someone it happened (high 40s) and he didnt get it back they said the back up was not there.

But the best of luck to you keep at them hour in and hour out. From a business point of view you may decide enough is enough and quit if you cannot get it back so it is in their interests (and their bank balance) to keep you in the game by restoring it.

NOOO, not an ELF for Tir Na Nogs sake! Celts look a bit better...

Anyway, I saw this kind of thing happen too much in another MMORPG, so my opinion is - IF (note the caps) you gave out your account details, you were asking for something bad to happen sooner or later. Just so god damn annoying there's some retards who like to completely wreck someones hard work.

AAH but then you are into a different situation.

Lets say person A has been using his epic armour since the day he got it, been using merchants to repair and it's down to 50%. The most effective piece of your armour is your chest piece so person A, having heard about people getting replacements from RightNow, drops vest on floor, starts repairing (so that GOA has it logged etc) then presses the windows key to force a LD.

Because GOA have replaced items lost this way before, they are duty bound to do it again as they have no proof it was deliberate. Hey presto 1 brand new epic vest.

On the subject of Tdaer and his missing items.

The likelihood is that someone who had access to his account, either traded, sold or deleted all of his gear. Account trading/sharing is something GOA frown upon, but as of yet haven't cracked down on it.

They could track everything down in the database but why should they? You are asking someone to work on your personal behalf, on a problem you caused yourself.

While I have a great deal of sympathy for Tdaer, I hope a lesson has been learnt by not just him, but other account 'sharers'. Most of the time you don't 'know' the person you share with, it's very easy to piss people off ingame 1 day and be back to normal the next and it's all too easy to lose everything you have worked for.

On a happier note Tdaer, as soon as I get a masterpiece af102 piece you can have it. :)

On losing items while repairing, etc them on the ground then going LD, you can still pick up the item if you get back online before the decay-timer runs out. Almost lost a weapon to that a while ago, but to my surprise it was still there when I got back and I could pick it up.
