Run everything in admin mode, let the patcher do its work and take a look at your firewall.

I had that problem, too. Seems you need to set the path to your game directory in DAoC portal (it's on one of the menus top left).

you do not. Uthguard is a freeshard which means its completely free mostly because it's not technically legal

hmm well i cant seem to log in. i log in the portal select uthguard some bars pop up and then the daoc client pops up with another log in, i tried the one i used for the portal and it says invalid, i tried a trial ea account it says closed

To the contrary, Aug healers are pretty nifty solo at a early stage, and loved by tank xp groups at a later stage

But obviously, soloing later might be a ball ache.

I was assuming that we were talking about live servers. I honestly don't mind playing at level 44-49 or level 50 on Uthgard. I play Thidranki primarily to capture the feeling of RvR in 2002, before the 'I-win' abilities, Master Levels and high Realm Rank groups ruined it. No issue with 50 RvR at all if it's 'old school'. I even had a RR9 Enchanter on the Instant 50 OF Freeshard.

I tried levelling a character there once but I honestly don't have the time to commit to such a thing. If I started levelling to 50 now I don't think I would make it before Camelot Unchained is released =).
