But he should be jailed, fraud is still an offense
cHodAX said:Bollocks, he already paid for that operation with 50 years plus of tax and national insurance. It isn't fraud to take what you have already paid for, the law is an ass if it ever rules otherwise.
Thadius said:Hmm, so I can go take money out of the governments bank account illegally and walk away free of charge?
cHodAX said:He paid his wack over the course of 50 years and yet when he needs a life saving operation they tell him he can wait 6 months. At the end of the day he didn't recieve anything he hadn't already paid for, it is not theft if you have paid.
Sparx said:LOL
he would have got it tho thats the thing, forget about what happened he did purposfully write a cheque knowing he couldnt pay, fraud baby
Dukat said:I agree that its a nice story, but what about everyone else who is in the same boat? what if everyone else in that 6 month waiting list did the same? the NHS wouldn't beable to cope and people would die because of it(imo).
Sparx said:so you suggest we scrap NHS and be like the yanks?
discuss.
actually you are wrong,cHodAX said:The NHS only has waiting lists because consultants and surgeons keep it that way, they have plenty of spare time to see private patients at £150 for 15 minutes but if you try to get an NHS appointment you wait 4 months. Now what would happen if they were barred from seeing private patients? They would have more time to see the patients the NHS has already been paying them for. The problem is that we already have a 2 tier health system and the poor bastards that are relying on thier tax/insurance payments for treatment are very definately on the bottom rung of the ladder.
Chronictank said:actually you are wrong,
my Uncle for example is a heart surgeon, he offered to work for free to get the waiting list down, but isnt allowed to simply because
a) there isnt the staff to support him as the hospitals have no money to pay them
b) he isnt allowed to work more than his quota (yay for beurocracy)
Now look at the other side of the fence, private
point a) you can employ nurses who dont work for the NHS
point b) there are no quota's, you can work as much as you want
Quite simply when you go private you pocket the cost of all the things required for a operation that is why it is quicker and easier
It is plain stupid and short sighted to assume doctors who do a fu***ng fantastic job under the conditions they are in the NHS are to blame as the vast majority of them are there to help people not line their pockets.
The guy should go to jail for abusing the system, if he isn't punished then you are opening the door for other people to abuse the system and the already stretched NHS will fall to pieces.
Removing private care will increase the work load on the NHS, and it will be in a worse state than it already is. Sorry to be brash but it is plain short sighted to think that is the solution as the doctors who want the money will simply go abroad and the ones left will have a bigger workload than they already do
At the end of they day you are saying its "ok" to be dishonest, he should go to jail for breaking the law as thats exactly what the law is, a set of rules who arent dependant on any form of discrimination

I already have to pay for prescription and my dentist, stuff I should be free getting anyway. Except the money has gone to the endless stream of illegal immigrants. Hell, I cant affrd a house or a flat of my own, but if you come over on the back on a Transit Van, you get a nice one in middle of the country!
cHodAX said:As for the immigrants, I couldn't agree more matey. It is a fucking national tragedy that we will house economic immigrants but we won't house our young people who can't afford to get on the property ladder. If these people want to come to the UK then let them earn there keep and pay thier way, if they don't want to work then stick them on the next plane out of here.
Thadius said:Why stop there?
Kick out those people who are born here who sit around and wont earn there keep.
