Tried Jade Empire on the PC (never played it on the Xbox), could not bring myself to play for more than 2 hours total.

I've got Oblivion for the Xbox, i played it for a while but it got abit same ole same ole.

Diablo 2 is the shit, great game. Still havn't finished DL'ing but i'm up for some online play when it's finished.

This makes me laugh, first saying oblivion is to much "same ole same ole" and then saying Diablo 2 is the shit. Diablo is the definition of "same ol same ole".

ps. with that said, played both games and loved them both! but oblivion fits the description of a game you said you were looking for a lot better :p

Heard that Morrow Wind (sp?), the one in the Elder Scrolls series before Oblivion, should also have an amazing story, but again, only second hand accounts.

I can't say oblivion is same ol same ol though.

I've played a near 50 hours, and haven't even reached the first storyline town :D

Never happened in any other game. Heck, even in Fallout i followed the path, mostly, first time.

But as soon as i got the free roam option in oblivion i was off like a pervert in a sleazy theater.

Anachronox.

Pretty much a bog standard RPG - however the sheer beauty of some of the worlds and the quircky characters and storyline and some really good humour makes it an excellent game.

Hell you have an old guy who can yammer to someone until they lose the will to live and give you extra information.

It's quite funny!

If you want a good storyline and can live with crappy graphics, pick up and (re)play some of the old point-and-click adventure games;

  • Beneath a Steel Sky
  • The Monkey Island series
  • Grim Fandango
If you want something more modern, is Assassin's Creed coming out on the PC coz that's pretty mint on the PS3

Is Assassin's Creed really that good? I heard it gets a bit monotonous?

Apparently the missions are abit repetitive but all reviews I've read said that it's a game you don't want to miss, and looking at all the videos I tend to agree - just having tried the freeclimbing seems worth the purchase. Sadly I don't have a 360 or a DualCore CPU(rest of my PC can handle it but need DualCore).

This was about Assassin's Creed btw, posts sneaked inbetween and I didn't quote :p

If I'm 100% honest, I've not been a serious gamer (DAOC excluded) for a long time. I'd rather read than play games! That said, I enjoyed the little of Assassins Creed that I played just for the back story, the atmosphere and the general "Wow Factor" of it all.

Personally i thought Assasins Creed wasn't all what it cracked up to be, very repetetive and not enough action. Each to their own i guess.

Again you bring up the 'repetitive' while playing Diablo 2, sorry but this is just cracking me up :D

Im enjoying assassins creed alot (playing on PC on full graphics makes it look glorious as well).

The missions are a little bit repetative, however I am just having fun making my own side missions. I insist on assassinating as many guards as I can even though I dont need too. Walking down a street, ah a random guard with others overlooking the area. Sod it, kill him :) . They are evil and I am a friend of the people.... honest!

Sure as I go on a few the missions will differ slightly, but I put thought into my planning of the final part of each mission so as to make it as clean as possible, even though I can fight a dozen guards and win still if i just decided to forget about "assassinating".

If you enjoy a good looking game, it is definately worth playing. That is a certainty.

shite on the consoles, slightly less shite on the PC, more ways of doing things etc.

Nice tech demo though!

I'm looking for some PC Games that have a really nice story line with them. Like Final Fantasy for example, and also are long games which last for ages. Takes a few weeks of casual playing to complete them.

Also that will run on my ...

1.73Ghz Dual Core
2GB of Ram
Ati Radeon 200m

Currently in the process of buying Diablo 2 with the expansion pack. 2gb so it'll take a while to DL.

Any recommendations ?!

Two Worlds are nice. kinda like oblivion but without all the retardedness about mobs leveling with you and stuff, got a decent story from the little i've played it.

only problem i have with it is the stupid "ye old english voices" on the movie clips.

/edit: oh and cant go wrong with the Gothic series. those 3 games are pretty pwn.

/edit 2: Titan Quest are ok to.

Helmes got a point.

If you say "diablo is kig of kings" and then call another game repetative, you kinda lose a...*ring ring*

"Hello? Ah yes, i called earlier, is this the Prostetic Company 'cause Laddey needs a leg to stand on."

*click*

Yes i stole the joke from Barney but that's 'cause it's awesome! :D
