Lay down your swords, give your simulacrum the day off and move your red noses to Camelot for a fun filled, jolly-ol' Christmas night.

Friday the 20th of December at 19:00 gmt, PARP will welcome Christmas in Camelot with the best carols, games and hot ale.
Of course the dresscode will be red and green and no weapons are allowed <winks>

Christmas gifts will be given out (please remember to bring if you have any spare items) to either the poor people of lower seasons, to someone you would like to get to know better or to someone you think deserves a little extra.

We have selected a few songs that are to be song with our dear minstrel Kyra as lead singer and at 21:00 gmt we will all move to Hadrian's Wall and greet the guests of our realm with these songs.

All in all it will be a night filled with joy and fun.

Best wishes from PARP

--------------------------
Here is the songlist for the evening, thank you Nim for finding them:

Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh,
Over the fields we go, laughing all the way.
Bells on bob-tails ring, making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight.

Chorus
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.

-----------------

Joy to the world! the Lord is come;
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
and heaven and nature sing,
and heaven and nature sing,
and heaven, and heaven and nature sing.

Joy to the earth! the Savior reigns;
Let men their songs employ;
while fields and floods,
rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

-------------

Oh! You better watch out,
You better not cry,
You better not pout,
I'm telling you why:

Santa Claus is coming to town!

He's making a list,
He's checking it twice,
He's gonna find out
who's naughty or nice.

Santa Claus is coming to town!

He sees you when you're sleeping,
He knows when you're awake.
He knows when you've been bad or good,
So be good for goodness sake!

-----------

Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight,
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavely hosts sing alleluia;
Christ the Saviour, is born!
Christ the Saviour, is born!

Hm ...

... being of Avalonian descend and follower of the ancient faith of elemental powers, I am just wondering: participants of all faiths invited? Or is it a Christian thing only - and do I need to know this Santa guy?! ;)

Nice idea, though, to unite the realm maybe

/salute

Not being a christian myself I can promise you it is only for fun! :)

And Saint Nicklaus was a guy plasing small money donations on the window frames of poor people as far as I remember, so nothing to fear there either. There will be a play about the birth of famous carpenter, something I am looking much forward to since I have never seen a christmas play before :D

So if you dress up in green and/or red, you are more than welcome to join us in this non-religious fest of jollyness ;)

Thank you so much everyone that was involved in this, it went very well.

Even our version of A Christmas Carol went pretty well. hehe was really funny, some of us macroed our lines, others didn't (me) but still it was pretty good.

I think maybe we will start doing more presentations of plays for our realm and make use of that stage in Camelot more often!

If anyone has any ideas for plays, please contact us at PARP.

Merry Christmas to Albion (early) and again thank you for coming to the party!

Yes it was a wonderful evening! I had never imagine we would get such applauds as we did - they were standing and everything! :)

We only had two days to find a play, shorten it, find actors and find the cotumes - imagine what we can do if we have 6! :eek:

Taking use of that stage is something I have dreamt about for a long time, I am really pleased it was welcomed this way.

This is indeed something I want to do again! :clap:

I think this is an Excellent Idea, but how about extending it :)

Why not ppls from all realms meet at emain(I guess) donning red hats and cloaks and start singing alternate lines of the christmas carols with each other(/y the words).

Have no weapons visible, and if anyone breaks the good nature of this get together, the attacked members realm are alloud to slay that ppl without the attackers realm mates aid.

Or am I hoping for too much here?

You can never hope for too much, but it is rather optimistic :)

The best way to do it is to write an invitation here one BW, on www.fluxe.net/parp and on the boards of the roleplaying guilds of the three realms.

Have you thought about if you want some kind of show (like a band of musicians from the three realms)?

Well only Hib/Albs have instrument players
Midgardians are not versed in such refinements, although I do think the skalds could use a Viking horn :)

Was just trying to start a discussion and get us altogether for Christmas day.

Can't say i enjoyed the play, although must say congratulations to those who performed as it must have had alot of hardwork and effort put in.
Enjoyed the card games though,
although to coin a phrase from Myddrin it was "ladies night" unfortuneately and none of us blokes had a chance to see the women strip off , 'cept for seeing Kyra naked.. but that's nothing new :p
