I saw a 'movie' called "What the Bleep Down the Rabbit Hole" - it's about 3 hours long and discusses the science/religion battle that has raged for...well... ever really(ish).
The point is, they discuss alternate realities in quantum theory and how things don't actually exist until they are perceived by the observer and various other weird and wacky quantum stuffs.
It then goes on about spirituality (in it's many forms, generally known as religion) and how the science of quantum theory can be extremely similar to the practices and theory of spirits/supernatural/religious views and stuff.
It's kinda hard to explain and if you're interested in that kind of stuff, I'd recommend wasting a few hours to give it a go.
