He reminds me of someone who once refused to accept that the riff to Come As You Are by Nirvana was a total rip-off. heh.

Deathscythe - go listen to some real punk. Start with these two albums:

The Clash - London Calling
Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks

Anyone else you'd like to mention X?

Try Fresh Fruit for Rotten Vegtables by The Dead Kennedys for starters. I hope you like it. If you want some more modern stuff maybe Rancid.

At least you got some taste then ;P

NOFX are ok. I prefer older stuff as you've probably gathered. Check out some old bands tho but try to stick to stuff before '82.

No words I can post can justify an answer to that.

Please...go check out the past of the bands you like...please.

lolol!

Zeppelin = very late 60's to mid 70's. Music existed before you were born, and it was much better than anything that's on offer today!

I hate Mick Jones. I met Joe Strummer not that long before he died, he was "ok".

If you're not heard anything pre 80's how the fuck can you beg to differ?

Fair enough. .snoopy will come along and kill you saying this, but I'm not a huge fan :>

If you slag off The Smiths however, I shall track you down and use your eyeballs as marbles.

P-Rock - "Real Music For Real People".

A slogan so shit, argumentative and pretentious that I could have thought of it (you people haven't been treated to my rambling music vs. cheesey pop arguments, feel blessed). I could have though of it, if, I liked the shit that passes for music on that channel.

I agree about the Amp. Well designed interactive whatsit too, generally not too repetive, though the current Athlete song is pissing me off muchly.
It's nice, can swtich between the Amp and MTV2 and get a pretty watchable playlist. And getting Super Furry Animals "Golden Retriever" in short sucession is never a bad thing either.

I don't watch The Amp much, because nothing I like will ever get played but when I have it's been quite dandy, really. Best of a bad bunch imo.

The Amp's XFM connection helps it.

The ones that cause me the most distress are Q and the other Emap spin off channels. Q especially, since the playlist bears minimal relation to the content of the magazine. The "Q approved" music they do play is then always months old (Chili Peppers, Zepher Song for instance, MTV2 murdered it with overplay, but Q still persevere).

on the subject of music today being better than music of yesteryear:

<Add> sorry but saying that music today is as good as music from the 60s and 70s
<Add> it's like saying AIDS is better than really nice food

He's right you know.
