Overpowered chars in bg1

I think Vampiirs are quite strong in thidranki, especially when I killed 4 albs with my poorly equiped one.

Since when did armor abs help other than in melee? Doesn't matter wether u wear cloth/studded/chain/plate, only resists apply.
