U cant bodyguard some1 if some1 is already BGing u. And intercept isnt usefull in that situation either.

If both BG'ers are fairly solid classes though which they usually are they can keep swapping BG between each other to spread the damage out. I've seen trio's do that before against soloers, kinda lame but it works.

Intercepted attacks also bypass armour bonuses, which can really hurt.

I once killed albion, then hibernia added but i killed them as well while having a wank over how rox i am, then i got told by a GM i won daoc and was forced to log.
Its uber what a good wank and delusions of grandeur (sp?) can do..

i fought 2 paladins who were cross guarding on my warrior in old frontiers that was a long fight i was never going to win ;\

2 cross guarding good templated shield tanks are melee immune already without bg ^-^
