Thanks bud, will give that a look when the phone has a full charge, all this Orange branded crap is getting me down, can't even switch off 3G and connect to the internet only via wifi, it constantly wants to use 3G even though there is a rocksolid wifi connection up.
Now I am really confused, ran MrPigfish and it says the phone is gen1. Build number suggests gen2, really don't want to brick this and I have 2 others to do for friends as well. :/
What's sound qual like? I'm looking to get one smart phone, but I'm worried about talking and hearing. My mate has a Iphone and he sounds quiet and shit compared to my candybar style phone.
How do they compare to the BB Pearl? 50% of my business is on the phone, I have to make half the sale on phone before I can meet them. So sound quality and ease of hearing is biggest factor for me. If they can't hear me good or I have to keep saying, what it won't go down well.It is pretty decent, a step down from what you are used to but more than good enough imo.

GPS also is a biggy for me, been using Ovi maps on my GFs Nokia X6 and it's pretty shit. Can you install TomTom on Android? You can get the cracked version on PDAs etc.
Only reason i'm holding off on a smartphone and looking to bb pearl (it's candybar), is because i'm scared of it being shit and uncomfortable to hear/talk.
Hmmm, hard choice, i'm not the best with phones, I'm still lacking behind with phone tech People say Android is the future and my mate thinks BB is old tech and waste of cash.Plenty of GPS software available. As for voice, well mine is just fine, not as good as my ancient Samsung or Nokia but not far off. If you know the Pearl is excellent at that though and has your GPS then you should really go for that, work is what pays for everything else.
Tempting to get one, £80 is so cheap ... not sure how I would get one here though. Suppose buy one on ebay and get it shipped over.Well with custom-mods you can already run android versions way beyond what the manufacturer intended. They ship with 2.1 but there are custom roms for 2.2 2.3 and 3.0 so I think it is going to be around for a while. It isn't the highest performance phone around but for 80 quid it is pretty incredible. Have a look on android market for GPS software, there is tons of it.
