Maybe because this is only the second one ever found and the first I think was rather dead. This one will be fresh. It's human nature to be inquisitive can learn possibly many amazing things about it. These may just purely be facisinating in widening our knowledge of how it lives and the history of this planet, or we may find something of great use.

I sure hope i never see the day when "inquisitive aliens" come to earth to see what they can learn about us. They could learn amazing things about how humans work by slicing us up whilst still alive with laser scalpels and feeding us our own entrails to see if we throw up.

Well it was found by fishermen. Im sure marine biologists etc wouldn't even dream of killing it. Yeah its a great shame but atleast make the best of a sad situation.

in other news, the cuttlefish pics were great i believe that cuttlefish are the only creatures aside from humans that actually blush but i could be wrong about this, however they are extreamilly cute little things.

I think the squid in the pic was dead anyway but tbh by the time the people had hauled it up and taken pictures of it it would have died anyway they dont respond too well to being out of water i abhor the way we tend to treat unusual animals but i think that this one was an accident because it was eating a fish that had been caught and so got caught up its self.

i remember reading about the largest rheticulated (sp??) python to ever be found and it was in thai land (i think it was definately somewhere oriental) they had it in a cage tiny concrete cage with like one stupid branch and that was all and they used this bloody magnificant animal to make money i dont know if it survived but i was so ashamed tbh its like "ooh look at this giant snake wow its a bit of a mirical tbh... i know lets abuse it to make money yaaay us!"

That frilled shark that bobbed up a little while ago was damn impressive too it looked a bit like a giant hag fish i was really sad when it died but that didnt seem to be anyones fault.

Im going to go see if i can find any pics of megamouth (no not seel!) for you because that is awsome!

No they are like cameleonts (?), they can shift colours to blend in with environment. I loved watching nature films when I was younger, got to learn much about animals

What is a frilled shark? (I probably would know it if someone said it in swedish)

cuttlefish do use their colour changing a lot more for camoflague but also use like flashing colour changes for communication and if they get worried or upset then they will blush..

Animals doesn´t harm the planet, humans do. They keep multiplying and drain resources and spread. Mostly in Africa / India etc. And who said a human life is worth more than an animal, just because an animal is not as intelligent at us. Rather keep a rare species than thousands of an excessive specie.

So youre saying a few 100 million cars driving around doesn´t make a difference. Its in the low tech countries that are overpopulated, which harms the earth most. I´d say fuck compassion, they have been given soo much cash to fix their situation. Doesn´t matter how much cash / help they are given. If they can´t adapt then what good can they do ?
