Yawn right back at you, 00dave asked why people are afraid and I've provided an article as to the reason why, because that article embodies what the Tories stand for in most anti-Conservative voters eyes. Whether you like it or agree with it or not, it's representative of a widely held perspective.

You are of course aware of The Independent's political allegiance to the Liberal Democrats?

Unlike all the other newspapers that wouldn't dare hold a preferred political agenda. Naughty Independent.

A perspective that is fairly out of date and wrong. It's the same as tory papers bashing labour for only caring about stealing from the rich to give to the poor.

I've finally made up my mind, and that's to vote conservative. Overall I think DC has carried himself better throughout the campaign whereas Brown looks like a dried out turd. Clegg has impressed, but I'm not for a hung parliament.

Whoever gets in we are looking at the equivalent of 5% extra on Income Tax and a 20% VAT rate :(

Jealous of leaders with massive wangs?

Tory here too, not just because I want Brown out, but because the local Tory candidate is a nice guy and won't waste vast sums of money like Malcom Wickes the labour incumbent has done.

While I can't comment on the figures themselves, the basic idea behind them is totally on the mark. No political party would dare say that they're going to raise income tax in the run-up to an election. Raising income tax, VAT and corporation tax are the likely starting points, maybe even soft targets like fuel, booze and cigs as well.

In the last 6 months I've had to tighten my belt, reduce my outgoings and come to arrangements with my primary creditors to get back on top of my debts. My mortgage fell behind a month or two and I'll be back on top by autumn. Once that's sorted, I can use the cash that's freed up to sort out my other creditors and have all of them sorted out by the end of next year.

The country is in the same situation. Belts need to be tightened, outgoings need to be reduced and firm commitments made to get back on top of the debts.

I've seen soo many people on facebook voting because of historical and loyalty to family reasons. It's very sad, at least they are voting I suppose. Vote because you agree with what your local MP and party want to do.

in two minds about that.
on one side the bnp **** got what was coming, on the other the guys who came up to him were obviously looking for a fight and spitting at someone is spretty nasty.

still: funny :)

Someone spat in my face I'd kick the shit out of them. Fair play in my eyes. Don't agree with the policies of the BNP but spitting = invite to get a beating.

That said, I also watched that with no sound and don't know what was said but nothing warrants a spit in the face. Punch him, push him, hit him but don't spit on the man.

Oh and I voted Tory this morning.

Area is Tory and has been forever.

The way I see it if I don't vote, I can't moan about the state of the country come Friday!

he told them to jog on and got spat at. he didnt insult them or provoke them (beyond wearing his bnp rosette!). fair play when he got stuck in. he also said "theres more of us than there are of you, walk on lads!"

Doesn't bother me! I don't have to pay income tax as I run a business and most of it comes out as dividend.

Of course, if you work in a normal job (like most people) you're fucked.

Yay conservatives! All for the well off and fuck the poor! :D

Really? A bit of spit is better than a punch nowadays?

That's a total reversal from 20 years ago :(

Can't really understand what you're trying to say but I assume you mean something along the lines of he deserves the worst owing to being a BNP candidate?

Agree or not with his views spitting is out of line.

I'm saying spitting on someone, whilst a bit disgusting, is nowhere near as bad as physically assaulting someone.

It's fucking retarded to think that something that can kill (as a single punch to the head has been known to do) is regarded as "better" than making someone wet.
