I agree that the posting of the images was going a bit far, but they got banned before that for simply doing in the space of 5 minutes what certain people had been doing for the last 2 or 3 days. Namely typing Yaaarrrr or other such nonsense into otherwise sensible threads.

This was merely to illustrate to those people who insisted on typing the aforementioned Yaaarrrsss how intensly annoying it was, and that it might be time to stop.

Clown got banned earlier in the week for saying 'Fuck Off' to the pirate obsessed mob, a move which was slightly out of the blue frankly, and he was given no warning whatsoever before the ban was imposed.

You could say the thread invasion was a protest at the double standard of telling Clown that his posts were worthless, whilst putting up with page after page of useless yaaaaarrrring without making comment.

How is Gr8 M8 any worse than Yaaaaaarrrrr?

So, yup, Goatse is bad, but the initial bans were merely for doing the exact same thing as a whole bunch of other people, just doing it in the space of 5 minutes rather than three days.

You set up a company, try and attract people of all age groups and tell me its ok for your users to post things like goatse, rascist flames etc. You may have seen it before, it doesnt mean everyone has or even wants to. He was never warned about his Gr8 M8's and it seems if he had said Yaaarrr instead of GR8 M8 he'd still be with us.

I'm in no way defending anyone else, but on Clown's behalf I feel I have to. He's got banned for doing nothing more than loads of other people on here, and indeed much less than plenty of them. It just tastes like the sort of Nazi moderation that someone else came here to avoid only this week.

Heh, don't forget I'm in favour of cleaning this place up. I even said in a thread a while ago that if a swear filter would help to make the rules plain and clear we should go for it, and got shot down in flames for that one. Even-Handedness is all I'm banging on about. If the only way to be safe on here is to be a white, teenaged (ex)daoc player, there's plenty of us have to be worried.

That i agree with, but you tell me that some of the things wrote on this board, are not as dirty, if not more? Fair enough, GAME/BW are responsible for what they allow, but when people are calling others 'fucking cunts' etc, i don't see how thats any better for young children as goatse (fair enough goatse is sick). My point, is when a young child see's goatse, they think 'eww' and close the broswer, but a child who doesn't know better sees someone get called a 'fucking cunt' then goes on to use it in their day to day life, causing more trouble for them than goatse ever has.

I'm not saying banning all swearing is a good idea, but when i see the language and general tone of the conversation in some threads, i fail to see how you can say goatse is going to cause more trouble for the younger children. Maybe im wrong. I'd like to hear your opinion on this though.

How pathetic. Like you say, it's not just saying "yarrrrr" that'd keep him unbanned, if he had posted *felch wij* he wouldn't have been banned either. He wasn't even warned either, which is hardly a surprise and nobody seems to get warned just banned straight out.

I think the goatse pics should mean an automatic ban, if you know the forum you know it well enough to know that you shouldn't be posting that kind of stuff, and if you don't know the forum then the inside of an anus is a hell of a way to introduce yourself, so the same applies.
