The "poo particles" you're afraid of, are all over your bathroom. Hairbrush, doorknob, seatcover(both) etc. Do you close the lid or open the door with your feet?

Just because we didnt wash our hands 30k years ago, doesnt mean its a bad idea. Nature works with limited resources, people seem to forget that.

Noone said "washing hands weakens".

I seriously doubt that my mum went to those extreme efforts and I suspect that any mother who claims they do is lying Also, we had a cat in the house when I was a baby, and a dog when I was a small child. You can almost guarentee that my mother or father would have handled me when they had a cold.

Sanitising the baby stuff, probably but throwing away a dummy when I was screaming my head off in a shop after I threw the damn thing on the floor myself? I doubt that. I believe my mum isn't one of those "cotton wool" mothers, even when I was a wee tot.

It never occured to us that my frequent chest infections and respiratory problems were caused by the presence of the cat, dog and later on my smoking grandfather. I suffered these from the time I was a baby until I started avoiding the aforementioned things like the plague. I should also note that my grandfather would only smoke in his own room with the window open, never around his grandchildren.

I suspect my allergies are part inherited (my mother is also allergic to those critters) and part athsma. Also, I am not allergic to my wabbits or rats or guinea pigs, its pretty specific: Dogs, Cats, cigarette smoke and some expensive perfumes one of my sisters likes. She wasn't too happy when she bounced up to me to show off her lovely smell and I responded by running off to find my inhaler ^^

As I understand it, allergies are an overreaction of the immune system so I don't believe mine is particularly compromised, just gets extremely angry at certain things. The biggest exception to this is my weakness to URT infections (or chest infections) but those have so far been directly connected to prolonged contact with the things that make my immune system bad tempered; the first 16-18 years of my life when I lived with either a cat, dog or a smoker, last christmas when I spent a lot of time with my smoking sisters to get away from the stress of my father and stepmother, another December time when I stayed in a house which contained a cat for a couple of weeks.

Aside from the "pampering" of babies I agree with you Although I do find myself opening the doors in public toilets with my sleeve after I've washed my hands because all this stuff has occured to me before. Something about public toilets is icky because the germs aren't "ours" I pick up the allergies argument because its been such a major part of my life by causing regular illness and discomfort and therefore very close to my heart.

since e-coli is in your colon, it wouldnt be unimaginable that there would be e-coli bacteria there?

piss is sterile anyway, so even if it went all over your hands and you somehow sprayed it in your mouth it wouldnt really be a problem.
