Ok - Flamefest material, but how old are the realms?

Right. This is not an attempt at being ageist, but for a while now I have had the impression that the players on Albion are typically on average older than those on Midgard. I get this impression from a number of aspects... perhaps reading those highly enjoyable 'primetime' threads, perhaps from the speed that Midgard levelled (the younger players seeing levelling as more of a competition sort of thing than the older more laid back ones). Most recently, of course, we've noticed raid activity during the week a bit more, and I see this as a sign that many of Midgard's players are on vacation from school or college, and aren't old and tired like me, stuck behind a desk 'earning' a living.

I also think that Hibernia's average age is higher still, which is pretty scary... maybe that's why the population is so low there as they are all hobbling off to get their pensions and bus passes?

Has anyone else considered this?

Extremely hard to say since I rarely speak with albs/hibs. Although I think you're right in some aspects. However in mid I get the impression that many of the high levels are a bit older, and the really young ones don't get high, after all one more often gets jumped by an irritating 31337 d00d that is lvl 10 than one gets jumped by a like one who's lvl 45. And I can't imagine one matures much during playing games?

Thing is, I've met many people I feel are young at low levels, but not that many at all at high levels.

27, and got a few characters. L46 Mid, L35 Hib, and then some Alb chars between L25 and L40. But then, I'm a foreignor with no social life...but I still work.

But, I tend to agree with Jupitus on the level thing and disagree with Erl. I'd rather say you'll meet more mid level Middies who are older than not, since I also think younger players in Mid DO see it all about getting to L50 and owning in RvR. I like to enjoy the realms, explore, and learn dungeons as well as can be done. Getting to L50 would be nice, oneday, but it's not the sole thing that drives me in this game. Hell, I'd prefer to actually have the XP gained from DF go somewhere than have it go into a void.

25, lvl 39 Hunter (which should be much higher, but I'm lazy - The rest of my guild's alts are actually catching up or overtaking me now... most amusing).

AFAIR The rest of my guild are all about my age or older, although we do have a couple of younger players. None of them are l337 dewds though, we don't have time for them.
