Whilst I'm posting I may as well include the details.

I've since ditched the AveDesk objects, however.

Kind Regards

I'm still using Royale, definitely the best compromise between standard Windows interface and "slick, jazzed up" interface.

I agree Big G, and with it being Microsoft there's no need to patch the 'uxtheme.dll' :) It also fits quite nicely with some of MS's other offerings, should people use them, such as MSN Messenger 7 Beta and Windows Media Player 10. Should hopefully keep me happy until Longhorn gets here next year (*hopes Longhorn gets here next year* ;)).

I wonder if they'll pop it in with Windows XP x64 Edition? Might be a nice gesture, although if most people are able to upgrade for free as planned then perhaps Microsoft don't need to incentivise it that much.

Kind Regards

Bought a new monitor and fancied a new desktop, found two that I liked so may alternate between them.

Gone with a completely clean desktop so what you see below is what I see in normal use, decided to hide the taskbar and recycle bin to keep it completely icon free. Continuing my trend of using dark backgrounds (white just hurts my eyes and the Kristen Kruek one didn't last long at all) are two largely black efforts.

Suppose I ought to make it look spinky or something with some shell type mojo, but na :)

A droid with lightsabres? wtf?

And blue and green, so presumably a goodie, or maybe that's what we're meant to think.

Someone explain plz!

More of a cyborg. There is a little alien guy in the droid head.

He's the head of the droid army and hunts Jedi for sport and collects their lightsabers as trophies.

Another change, 'cause the black theme got a little to boring.

Hi guys

My latest desktop. I'll post the details in a mo, just looking for links :) (be warned the file size of the enlarged version is rather large).

Kind Regards

Hi guys

Okay, links, should any of you be interested :)

  • Wallpaper: Apple and Cereal. Not free but part of an amazing collection of photos (including 'Rose' :)).
  • Theme: Royal Inspirat Special Edition. This is the 'Royal 1' version of the 'Longhornish' option, with the optional 'Segoe UI' font, all of which are included in this very nice take (if a little too blue) on Microsoft's Energy Bliss a.k.a 'Royale'.
  • Fonts: Microsoft Longhorn Cleartype Collection. I'm not sure if these are exactly safe for public consumption, but someone has kindly packed up six new Cleartype fonts which Microsoft is using with the latest Longhorn builds (Calibri, Cambria, Candara, Consolas, Constantia & Corbel). Calibri and Candara are used in the calendar (note, however, that these fonts are nothing spectacular, just nice, everyday typefaces).
  • Calendar: Samurize. The 'VisualPluginCalendar.dll' plugin was used, but there are many applications capable of doing this.
  • Toolbars and Shadow: YzToolbar & YzShadow. I've just linked to Google as there seem to be a variety of mirrors, but no official site, to gets these nice little applications. The toolbar style is included in the Royal Inspirat theme, using the 'Macish' option, although note not all the icons are so consistent. There's also a Firefox theme available to match.
I think that's it :)

Kind Regards

OK, not done this for a while. Certainly not since I got my dual-monitor set up. So here I go, shouts of ‘git’ are probably fair.

  • Theme is Microsoft's Royale
  • Background is ‘Tropical Bay (Dual Display)’ by Hydra5m off-of DeviantArt.
  • The VNC window is pointing at my new Mac, which is glorious
