Office + SMS question

Quick question...

Our operations guys installed Office Professional on about 1100 pc’s using SMS
Now they realise we only have Office Standard licences.
Our management agreed with Microsoft to uninstall Access to turn the Professional edition into a kind of Standard edition.
They don’t want to annoy all our users by uninstalling office.

And now they are knocking on my door to fix it…
Is there a way to remove access from the Office installation while leaving the rest (+ outlook settings etc) intact?

I know if you run the setup manually and deselect items they will be removed, but if I try the same via SMS and a transformation file nothing happens….

Any ideas….

Uninstalling 1 application doesn't change the fact that you have installed an incorrect license and are running software illegally.
