Offensive Avatars

The jiggling, popping out of clothes, being rubbed in circles, static..etc breast avatars. I'm fucking sick of seeing these offensive images. Why is it ok to show that and not penis's, testicles, vaginas or animated intercourse? If a woman goes topless down the street she is gonna get arrested or hassled or similar bad repercussion. Women have two body areas that are virtually the same in terms of nakedness. Men have one.

I was asked to change one of my avatars, it was from a movie and showed an actress with an axe in her head. Those special effects were deemed offensive and I changed it.

Ted and Deebs, maybe it's time to move forward in terms of presenting a responsible image on Freddys' House? You don't accept racism or discrimination in other ways and yet this sexist objectification is prolific on FH. Women browse these forums too. If it's not a problem to anyone else then I don't see why I can't have a pair of bobbing testicles for my avatar and I'd find some just to make my point.

probably not my place to answer this, especially as I am going to disagree Breasts, while being an intimate sexual organ, are almost totally demystified in British society. Several of the daily newspapers have a 'page 3' one has 30 odd. We go on holiday to the Mediterranean so we can look at breasts, sunshine also comes into it, and the excuse to get completely bladdered for a fortnight and become famous for shagging someone on the street in Famagusta for the latest 'reality holiday show', but mostly its breasts. Several of our 'tv personalities', have none, but they do have nice tits. We are innately drawn to naked breasts, in all their forms from the cartoon to the latest edition of Readers Wives, yes even 'ugly bint of Rotheram, likes: to get 'em out. Dislikes: keeping 'em in' we will look at hers, we will say disparaging things about them, but still we will look, and deep down, right at the root, we will think 10 pints, from behind, maybe just maybe.
Your point that it is derogatory to women, demeaning and base, casting all women as sex objects is absolutely valid. Unfortunaltely we do not live in an enlightened society, and breasts are nice to look at. Please do have a nice day.

Given that (I believe) most people don't find boobs offensive, and after all it is Deebs and TTD's site, they can have the rules however they want, the only solution is to turn off avatars if you find some of them too offensive.

Edit - also, in my opinion the down belows are more offensive/risqué/naughty whatever you wanna call it than a pair of tits. I think you're way off saying all womens bits have equal rudeness.

To be serious, I've never really been offended by a pair of breasts, but I can see the point of view of how I wouldn't want young kids or my boss seeing bobbing breasts on my screen, but Ala you stormed in here with your bra on fire, your knickers in a twist, and acted like it was an attempt to end suffrage rather than jiggling titties and that's bound to get people off side. I see Ala's point and in that sense, i agree too. But in a sense i understand the point of "tits ok, weewee not".

Having just completed a diversity course, you need to look away from "oh this is always around and not offensive?" The sun has page 3, and you do see a lot of breastage on tv but does it make it right? If someone finds something offensive then surely should not have to look at it (then turn avatars off in this case)

You could argue if FH want to expand the globe then breastage would turn away female gamers (although Damini and other female users happily use the site) and younger gamers, but FreddysHouse has it's own style of wit and humour so if people can't accept breasts in avatars then they will probably be offended by FH in some other way?

My girlfriend has recently been introduced to FH and the world of online gaming and she does not like seeing breasts, but it's not stopped her using the site and she is now addicted .

Personally, I have nothing against it, nor am I in the least bit offended by it either.

I have personally complained about this issue before, in particular regards to Big G's animated revealing of tits. Now, I, like a lot of other people browse at work. I read the forums with a quick glance of avatar to establish who the user is posting. I have to scroll quickly past. Now, I think the main problem lies within the fact the image is moving, and constantly repeating.

What it largely comes down to is that currently users are being told to turn avatars off if they have a complaint about them. As far as I have seen, there is only one person with what could be deemed even slightly inappropriate avatar. This person is causing people to remove features of the boards they like and utilise because one person thinks it is a great idea to have a tacky cheap pair of tits on their screen. Like I said before, I have no personal problem with this: I just think it stinks of immaturity and lowers the tone of the place. Normally if there is a low tone, it is hinted at in the thread. If you happen to be talking about a serious matter, the LAST thing you want on your screen is a pair of wobbling tits.

If I wanted users with stupid wobbling titty avatars, I'd go to some lame anime boards. Or some boards with 11 year old members. This place is above stupid titties for avatars. Stupid titties in threads are fine, because you know they are there.

My idea? Stop titties etc in avatars, keep them allowed on the boards but have some kind of tag at the start/somewhere in the thread subject stating that there may be the inappropriate material. This way, if someone doesn't want to see bouncing titties, they can control it without cutting out everyone's normal, mature minded avatars.

My 2 pence, not that it matters.

I don't really find breasts offensive myself. I have a pair. Oh, and if they were akin to a vagina, penis, etc, no way would I breastfeed in public, which is becoming pretty socially acceptable nowadays.

When I was at uni, a student had her tits out for an entire day and wasn't arrested.

I think titties, real or fake, are much prettier and less offensive than a huge pair of hairy, saggy bollocks, and I'm female and straight. Just a personal opinion.
