Octoberfest in Munich

Have been planning this trip with a hoard of students to go on a bus and staying over the weekend. Anyone else plans on going there, if so, i propose a meet up! Can't wait to go there.

Going through that list of things to bring to a festival or whatever while im planning :lol:

I've been there... and it was the most drunk I have ever been... apart from my 18th birthday.

We got there Thursday afternoon and got straight on it, we went straight outside where we got a space and started getting served - it was pretty cold outside but we drank through it, it was a fairly quiet one but we stuck around till the end and got pretty smashed. Went back to the 'school disco' at the hostel and a couple of my mates copped off with these 18 yr old Ausie birds, who were fucking rough.

We started drinking at 10am on the Friday trying to find a space in one of the beer halls, we eventually managed to find a free table, that was booked at 3pm, so we sat there until we got kicked out.

I downed 2 litres of beer back to back and my stomach was so full it came right back up, the Germans called me a legend. Got our pictures taken with these German birds in their amazing traditional Oktoberfest gear lezzing off.

When we got kicked out we went and sat outside for a while with some Germans, and had some amazing salty chicken.

I managed to last until the end, and then I had a 6 hour black out where I wandered the streets of Munich trying to find the hostel I was staying in. SOMEHOW - I managed to get back.

Two of my mates had alcohol poisoning after that Friday.

The Saturday we couldn't get a space anywhere, so we went to some of the beer halls in town, which was pretty decent and a good laugh.

I would recommend going mid week rather than the weekend, because at the weekend you wont get a table anywhere.

The usual Oktoberfest-Bier is a bit stronger than a regular (german) beer afaik.
If you have the chance, go to the "Deutsches Museum". It´s THE big german museum. Very interesting and exciting, even with a hangover.
Oh, and remember to buy Lederhosen and a Tirolerhut.

Last night I went to a place in Oldstreet called Bavarian Beer Fest. Was fucking awesome! Had a Warsteiner (sp?) in the 2L glass like the pictures above! Was a great place, great food, great beer and a great atmosphere
