No wonder hib/prydwen is so empty.

Nah, there's a few of us that actually want to play our alts in groups and figure out how to use the class to best effect - or even (shock, horror) get a feeling of accomplishment from having EARNED our levels!

And if I have to explain how to use guard, intercept and protect to one more high level tank who happens to be the alt of a manachanter, I'll probably put my fist through my monitor. Say no to powerlevelling - join the Campaign For Real Level 50s!

i can't join the campaign....... since i'll never be 50 :D

i'm annoyed at the way groups work in hib, but thats why i organise exp groups myself whenever i want to exp, and then i'll take them somewhere the plvl fuckwits have never heard of, or seen, like S.H for instance, or anywhere thats not C.F

works fine for me, and i'm sure i'll still be here after the feckers have left the realm.

Hibernia in Prydwen is slightly lonelier than it was before...

/Rambling on

I've come back to play after a long rest, and still realise that Hibernia is my favourite realm - love the classes, love the landscape (I'm not complaining about green spacious pastures...dark and crowded areas gives me headaches), love some players there.

Its a shame when many of the players I started out with have quit, let's take a small count.

I bought the game nearly a year ago with 2 mates, they quit the moment the first month ended.
Made a friend (Bard, Sylvir) when starting my first main (Hero, Toorc), and soon enough he brought me to know his guildies/rl mates (Blademaster, Matrium). In less than 3 rl days I got to know his guild (small one though - I think less than 15 people). Had great times. Weren't levelling fast at all (still had the 'new game, discover world' mentality then) but had a blast, telling jokes and talking rot basically. Then suddenly...

The guildmaster and vice guildmaster felt that Hibernia is gimped, and they somehow managed to pull 3/4 of the guild to Mid/Exc. I went along for the beginning, but Mid landscape really irked me and I didn't play. Then, over the next two months, 3/4 of the guild was missing on Hib.

Barely 6 days after the guildies have gone, the remaining 1/4 starts to disappear: 2 seems to have expired accounts, 1 was a workaholic, the other left because his friend was a workaholic and felt that levelling in game is boring. Bla, the guild was gone on Hib (Pagan Dawn btw, probably no one would have heard of it)

When I finally heard from the 2 guys in Mid/Exc again, I realise that they are Pro players there - have multiple characters over 35-40, RvR alot and generally have a very poor outlook on the game. They quit soon after.

Basically, the sad state of this game seems to be biting at your very soul - you make friends, lose them, but you still think of them. I do hope that I still have the newbie philosophy sometimes - you would have more patience to level, have a more naive outlook on the game and realm, are more forgiving in general, don't worry about the exp that much and having way more fun. Now, I solo kts as much as possible, getting into groups and getting out just as quickly because I realise they have bad ideas (A lv5 bm and bard against blackthorns & water beetles, both purp?) instead of sticking around.

Call me sentimental but I still remember clearly when Enduring Effervercients just started, I played with its first few members (Attrodal, Gazzaglitter) and had very fond memories. Now that its a big guild and all, it doesn't feel as warm, everybody's in a rush to level, and the old players are gone now. Who goes to Muire for a dungeon romp nowadays? They kt to 20 and go to Spraggon Den.

Memories of me kissing the floor of Muire Tombs along with 6 others peeps, joking about how dusty the floor was and stuff, and looking back to see a level 12 druid running slowly towards you with his little Lynx, and /sending you, "Hey mate, I'm back for ya".

I think I'm going to cry :~

/Rambling off

Sorry :p

Oi don't say that about EE we still have gazzy :D and he makes us all feel warm, i can see what your saying, but i still feel that EE is today what its always been, a guild based on friendship and fun, the abysmal rate of mine gazz and matax's lvling should show u we are in no rush to get 50.

hibernia is getting smaller, and people are leaving, but others join, and who knows, they may actually be as ncie as there predesscers (yes i can't spell!)

Kyu, very well put.

In case you are looking for a guild whose members like a good dungeon crawl, actual conversations during xp'ing sessions and actual love for the world that is Hibernia, have a look at www.nymarkeeshee.vze.com - albeit still very small (yet growing again after a long hiatus), I feel that you might feel home there.

On a sidenote - we are not a 100% rp-ing guild anymore (Artisans snatching all the rpers away :p). Which doesn't mean that we talk d%d, though. ;)

Oh - and pretty please define "slow". How many bubs an hour should it be? Playing in a comfortable atmosphere doesn't mean that you will be stuck at level 8 for a year.

I love about supposed DAoC "pro-gamers" - do you get a fat provision from GOA for your third l50? Or for being the first RRxx?

It all comes down to personal preferences, Trulla.
Your is fast xp and being leet - mine is to have fun and meet friends.

Hehe... I strictly seperate BW from in-game. As far as we have noticed, Ny Markee Shee members have either a good reputation or have at least not caused any trouble with anyone.
Quote Luna: "But you are so nice in-game!" *shocked*
(It's just such a lovely quote, Luna - hard to forget;))

Here I have to put up with "keke^lolmao pwned you faggitz!1" on lubberly Prydwen I put these kind of freaks on /ignore.

Funnily enough only Krypt is on my ignore list at the moment for spamming me whilst trying to enjoy myself.

The common exp group consists of 1 50 ench druid bard+5 grey con random NS/ranger. As in CM if You come looking for a group its "soz closed/guild group only."

I´m not complaining much since I bot an ench+bard on 2 computers currently lev 40, but its a bit sad for the tanks in the realm.

Cant wait until Mythic finally gets a grasp and put focus shield in enchantment line where it belongs.

but after the shit you've said in this thread so far why would anyone care what you think?

You go get your fast xp, don't have fun because it's just not as efficient as sitting there being a miserable bastard but wetting your pants at the sheer rate a little bar moves and dots light up on your screen!! *oh wow, golly gosh, it's so great*

I would rather have fun with slower xp than be you and get to 50 in a day.

First level 50 mentalist on server :p
Second level 50 Valewalker on server :p

xp grind is boring tbh, it's not fun and why pay a monthly fee for something that isn't fun is all I'm saying. Would rather get slowre xp but enjoy myself, especially as we all know what a great let down rvr is after you've completed the xp grind.

Why does it *have* to be pbae groups with nice BAFs? Theres lots of good places you can exsp and get good exp without pbae or great masses of adds :)

I much prefer the slow levelling groups with a bit of conversation :D.

Dont really have a problem with the PL'ers and Focus Groups however i would say that from experience those groups are generally the most unpleasant to be in (terse, aggressive and impatient) and tend to bring out the worst in people.

Experiencing is a pain at times for sure but its a hell of a lot more painful when youre in a bad group no matter how good the experience is in my opinion anyway :p.

ok im like 1/2 month late with this post but...

do u think its better if the group splits cause u needed a manachanter...

i say its a fair deal... one lvl 50 chanter that rolls n exp and for a small price ass having his little alt in the group too...

if i would come with my (soon)lvl 50 chanter and help out i too would have demanded next free spot for my alt... or 100-200g from every person in the group ;)

Hey i got an idea!!

Why dont we all petition Mythic to start a "no-exp" server o_O

Since so many ppl obviously care nothing at all for the PvE/Exp part of the game and is in it only to get the chanse to zerg or sneak around in the frontiers, why not give them what they want?

Give them a seerver where you start with levl 50 and be done with it!
That way those that enjoy the PvE part of the game (like me) can grp without the constant pressure of ppl thats there only for the exp (and gets in a bad mood the moment it doesnt meet their expectations).

Or give us a role-play server /beg GOA

Have fun all ;)

But what the heck just give them all MP/SC stuff too when they create the char so they really dont ever have to do any PvE at all ;)
