Well, after a 7 hour wait at hospital, a doctor finally saw me. She listened to my chest, and then said there was no point x-raying me, since unless a rib is smashed into small pieces, and xray won't show the damage.

I've been given some Ibuprofen (which I don't take, since they turn me into a space cadet), and told to avoid badminton. Other exercise, including cycling, is encouraged, up to the point where the pain stops me. The main danger with a broken rib is to breathe too shallowly all the time, which can lead to a lung infection.

And I doubt a cough would be much fun right now. Good to know it's a clean break and no small pieces.

So... will you be returning to your ninja studies?
