But what im trying to say is this :D

Once u have 51 composite weaponskill u dont gain any extra dps unless u use a style directly from that weaponskill line ... 44 cs is nice tbh ... u will prolly gain alot more dps sticking with that and trying to reach offhand 50-51 composite offhand :touch:

Bloody stat monkeys! mostly over my head tbh but I get the main point.

depends totally on RR and other spec choices tbh, but leaving CS @ 44 and pumping CD to max is rarely the best choice dps wise, for instance i got the highest possible dps out of my spec @ RR7 with 48 CS, and 29 CD, and whats more its more reliable evry fight dps when compared to the idea of me dropping to 44 CS and raising CD to 34. the difference is VERY negligable though (about 1 dps, maybe JUST under) but if you want to squeeze the most possible out of your spec, then just leaving CS @ 44 is not the way to go.

but then you never did listen to me anyway ;P

Im not gonna quote u on this :D

But u did just say in your last post that u only gain 4 hits a swing between the 2 specs ... now if u are trying to tell me that u wont gain that and then some from speccing as near to 50-51 composite offhand , then :touch:

Once again i must refer back to the 2 !Ideal! RR7-9 Specs

RR7-
44+17 Critical Strike
34+17 Celtic Dual
34+17 Blades
33+17 Envenom
33+17 Stealth

RR9-
50+19 Critical Strike
32+19 Celtic Dual
32+19 Blades
31+19 Envenom
31+19 Stealth

Sure this means nothing to lower realm ranks ... but u can see the point and the logic behind it :D For such an overall spec i think i can wait till RR9 for an extra ... 4 or so hits per swing :p

its 4 damage per second :p

and no, that's not huge, but neither is the 3 damage per second you get from having CD your way either ;P

the point is, if you want the best dps, you need to compromise..there are advantages to both ways though, your way gives you like an extra chance to offhand proc/land poisen evry 1.5 fights ish, and mine gives me a slightly higher PA cap etc.

but pure melee dps-wise my way is MARGINALLY better ;P

i only pick, because you dish it out as gospel to newb shades :) yer know i lub yer.

YOU FREAKING NERDS! :p What good can a wooping 4 dmg per sec do? Surely it may win a fight once in a million times, but what the hell ...

I mean - looks > all! Just for that fact, go pierce to poke stuff with neatly looking weapons! :p

Although anyone know how big the damage difference is between 44 and 50 CS?

To work out the exact difference you need to use your composite CS skill (eg comparing 44+11+rr CS with 50 +11+rr CS).

The answer is basically that change from 44 to 50 CS will give you a (6/X % 100/1) % increase in dmg to the STYLE component of your mainhand CS style swings. Where X is your 'old' composite CS skill with a 44 spec

Eg for a rr5:
44+11+4 = 59CS changed to 50+11+4 = 65CS, is a 6/59 = 10.17% increase.

This translates to a 10.17% increase in the style component of his CS style swings.

Style component dmg = GR * Spec * Swingspeed

So if you increase spec by x% u increase style component of dmg by x% also.

For 'from stealth' openers the style dmg is worked out differently so this doesnt apply, instead you just get some static increase for each point of CS (i havent tested it post the patch when they got a dmg boost).

---------------

By the way there is quite alot in this thread which is sort of misleading.
