Ok say you own a nightclub. Want to attact people into it, but on friday nights there's 2 other big clubs. Your club is new. One does a £12 drinks free all night deal. Other is just damn good.

Any ideas? Friend of mine is in a bit of a fix :(

Was wondering what other clubs around the country do.

Well, in Perthshire, the done thing is to burn down the other two clubs...Probably not that helpful for you.

Match or beat the £12 drinks offer, people always go for cheap stuff.

At the moment the club is doing a buy drinks for £1 offer, which kind of works, but still not pulling a lot of people in.

Need promotion stuff. Theme nights? Although not sure how good they will be.

That kinky school disco nostalgia thing seems to drag people in. You know, play the songs that people "snogged" to when they were 14. Move any Mountain by the Shamen, Yazz, Fresh Prince...
Cheap move to do.

DJing competition. Drags in the younger crowds, support and all (though bottled water may be the faster seller all night)...

Get Billy to plant drugs in the tills of the other two nightclubs, then phone the Police and watch menacingly as the nightclub owners get driven past in a fuzz mobile.

i work in a big club in devon and theme nights are very successful. friday nights they've all but given up on, the customers go to the other big club in town, but monday night is firmly targetted at students, wednesday is *cou* over 25's *gh*, thursday is "skool night" (turn up in school uniform and get in free)... there are many things that can be done... the place i work even has pool parties with a large indoor swimming pool :)

Hmmm, tricky. Get some decent guest DJ's in I guess, but that could prove expensive for a new venture. Drinks cheap would work around here for sure. How about naked dancing girls?

Not much help Im afraid. Not got a deal of experience with multiple club choices. Where I live theres only 1 club :(

LOL, when I was 14 it was the Housemartins (happy hour was a floor filler) Europe (finaaal countdooowwn) and Wham.:D

i don't know, it's the first time he's been there. but we shall see later on tonight :)

it's pretty quiet atm, january is always a pretty dead month.

btw (snicker snicker) we stole a couple of zanzibar's doormen (snicker snicker) :D

Ladies get in free night always goes down a storm as the fellas get a better chance of pulling even the ugly ones too.

To the fellas free before 11pm etc

eeeem play decent music or u'll flop miserably

cheap drinks are in order too.

And the right mixture of these, there will be a great night :D

SAS, what does your mate do at Zanzibar? i heard they weren't doing too well down there... that club changes management/name pretty much every year. ritzy's, rio, candy store and now zanzibar...

It's the license. Candy store had to move as the council did not renew there license to stay there.

As for my friend. She's the new PR girl. Has to help increase numbers on fridays + saturday nights at the moment. Hard job as you can imagine! (working at the competition :p )

well, our fridays are pretty quiet atm, millenium takes the majority share in plymouth on a friday night. but our saturdays couldn't be better, last one was the highest earning january saturday we've had since opening :)

ok why do a lot of young clubbers go to desinty? seem to hardy have any old people in there, unlike zanzibar.
