So I know some amps have HDMI input/output on them but what about the rest of the connections like scart (for NTL) and the console connections, surely amps don't have them.

Sorry about this but its a one off thing, I am doing the front room when our kitchen is done and I want it perfect and I want to be happy with it.

Not sure about new amps, but mine takes in composite, s-video and component inputs and will upgrade all the signals to output via component.

amps wont do scarts. i dont think any have been made with scart conns for some years now. if your are on ntl get the HD box. atm here arnt many hd chans available for it apart from beeb hd. the pic quality on normal chans are imporved abit compared to the ntl digital box

what consoles have you got?ps2,xbox,gc, wii can output to component and x360 comes with a component cable

I only have Wii and will likely only ever have that or any future Nintendos+Zelda

Wii has a component adaptor coming soon, will give you lovely picture quality and the option to output at 480p. Amps will take that as an input, although unless you have other devices using the component in, you may as well plug it directly into your TV.

Bugger Nintendo for changing their connections for the first time since n64. My Gamecube component adaptor is only a very slightly different shape to the Wii one -I may try and make it into the right shape.
