New T2 patch wanks all over my life

basically the patch shits up my t2 everytime. ive re-installed t2, and updated, but each time it just goes black after it updates the last patch. can i really be fucked with t2 anymore?

any help?

Start out, look at the fucking appalling graphics and laugh (although the scale of the maps is quite impressive). Get in a jeep and drive off. Listen to some bloke blabber on in the most monotonous voice you can imagine, he takes about 20 mins to say... Kill everyone, so don't fall asleep at the wheel because if you bump into a tree (a crash that my fiesta would survive) you have to walk the rest on foot.

Right, you get to the rest of your troop and jump in the back of a truck. Here you get to see just how poor the graphics are. You look around at your team mates and piss yourself at what looks like photos of the dev team selo-taped onto characters. You think, "i am sure it will get better in the battle"

20 mins after starting the mission you get to the battle scene and run towards the enemy village. The enemy opens fire and you run in. You start to forgive the rest of the mission because the action (so far) is pretty good. Then comes the commander.

"UNIT 8 KILL RPG SOLDIER"

It sounds like the kind of speech from Ben the talking clock, as if they didn't have the money to get the actors to record the all the sentences.

I really looked forwards to this game and have been waiting about a year. I got the test demo and although 85% complete i would have said after playing it that it was their first build. The most unpolished, boring, slow, realistic game (i.e. not fun) i have ever played.

Realism is a bad thing (imo) as there is only 1 type of realism, whereas games like Tribes 2 can be as far fetched as they want to make every ounce of the game action packed / fun.

Sly2K If you don't like Tribes2, you shouldn't be on this forum

basically d^strid3r, this latest offering from dynamix has fully badgered my t2 installation which i had only just got in working order........t2 just crashes every single time i fire it up after,oh, a whopping great 30 seconds into the game. =)

umm, if you like Tribes1 and not tribes2, then why not use the Tribes1 forum?

I used to play Tribes1 (for about a year) but i don't anymore because i think T2 is better, that is why i am use this forum, which oddly enough, is called Tribes2.

anyway T2 is a bad game. It may have been good if they realeased it when its finished (Xmas 2001) . Or if they stopped changing the whole damn game in patches which fuckup your game forcing you to re-install, blah blah blah ....

Custy, Sly plays for CL who play T2 and played T1. He happens to like tribes and isnt flaming anything. Some people are disappointed in T2 and instead of racking up public server time they are just playing clan games and seeking other games to play for part of the time. I totally understand how he feels. Seems like each patch breaks more than it fixes. If he cant vent some spleen on the T2 forum where can he?

Heh I think back to the T1 forum when T1 was in its heyday and remember the good flame wars - t2 forum is very nice and peaceful.

Only sure way I've heard to fix its problems is located under Start|Settings|ControlPanel|Add/RemovePrograms.
