Yeah like you said, people dont go to those places to have fg fights, people (even us) go there to get the even easier rp's than the group we just killed was, there isnt some steady flow of decent fg's coming to a remote place, no one wants to play a game that is boring so during the "fg downtime" we go kill some randoms, pretty simple?

Simple yes, I understand it completely. It just flies in the face of every comment made here about wanting fg vs fg action and then slagging off and insulting anyone who 'adds' on 'your' fights.

(Not referring to you in particular but the 'fg vs fg' set in general)

And if you are gonna go and farm easy rps don't be surprised when we form zergs to counter it, or add on the fights that occur where we have just been killed.

I want fg vs fg action, no doubt about that, but fg vs fg only is not something that can keep me occupied all night simply because there arent many fg's to fight. Adding from "randoms" (for lack of a better word) I can completely understand and have no trouble with, but people who ACT (and only act) l337 as you say, such as Konah, some GoL people etc. who keep on adding and still believe anyone takes them as a "serious group" or even as anything else than pure rp cows. I'm not saying we never add but way less than most.

people talk as much shit about the gg's as gg's talk shit about randoms :p

we always go to a remotely quiet spot away from the zerg areas, yesterday we played only to fight np, tt, gol and some fc mix group. never went to bridge to farm anything except clear up people that camped there for ages and charged DC so we couldn't buff in peace

if the other gg's really don't come looking for us (hint hint, zapstar) then we'll go to more zergy areas yeah - and getting added on there is only to be expected.. :p

this isn't old emain anymore where you can chain farm all the groups running out of apk.. was good rps but current rvr is much more challenging.

Always been like that, whine on the zerg but search it up every time you rvr.

your wrong here m8. When we ran old blizzard groups or old groove groups, we had like 2-4 players that was rr 11, no need of new rps, cause they get nothing but the fun/action. ATleast from my point of view, a good fight is worth more than the rps you get.

Going off at a slight tangent but a part of the reason you can now go and have your challenging fg fights is thanks to the RAs gained by farming the 'randoms' in OF (obviously some have rerolled but a significant proportion have not). You don't get rr11/rr12 by only killing other fgs, when you get there you have the luxury of choice.

I was not really referring to Hibs 'fgs' in my post I have far bigger issues with the ones in my own realm who managed last week to reduce me tears (yeah yeah I'm not very thick skinned) when I had not even left the very small area around Beno. Earlier in the same week someone I won't name joined my bg and threatened to steal artifacts from us because we were trying to retake Erasleigh. Or take the person who PM'd 'die plz' to me for 'adding' on a fight at Beno docks. It is this behaviour that generates such bad feeling towards 'fgs', I don't know if it happens in other realms, but I imagine it does as many of those involved play alts on other realms on Excal.

Sorry going off on a complete tangent but I think people should understand what it's like for the regular players before they start slagging us off for adding or harbouring bad feelings towards the 'fg vs fg' scene.

Well on an average night we make 30-50k, and 80-90% of that is from killing other groups that roam for 8v8 fights im pretty sure. Sure we have nights where theres a lot of siege action and we bump into many easy grps, but such nights are actually quite rare.

such behaviour is really insane, please don't think thats the norm for fg's. when we get a nice fight 'ruined' by your group/duo/zerg or anyone else, sure it frustrates me sometimes aswell. i would never go as far as to tell people to die irl though, or anything even close to that - and if i see anyone in my guild doing that i do make it very clear i don't want such behaviour.

there is quite a few hibs that are rude in the same way as you described though, but havnt seen anything that serious in our grp except our bard who i whined at badly :p

well i completely understand, and i think there shouldnt be any hostility between those 'groups'. guess some people are just really bad at controlling themself when they get frustrated :p im no saint either tho, i slapped (or was it rude? :p) you when you added the other day!

dont know if i get u right here, but u are one of those adding it seems, since ppl say bad things to you. Some ppl who play this game, only plays for rvr, and fg fights, most ppl play this cause of pve and some rvr, those obviously thinks that it is rly fun to zerg and add on players. In my expirence most albs LOVES to add on fights and ruin the gameplay of others. They get whined at, but they keep on doing it. Ofc saying stuff like you got pm'ed is just silly and rude, but i can understand why they can get mad for doing it, but there is other ways of saying it than die irl! But when u see that u do get these comments, try not to add/zerg to those who say it too you, cause u then know that they are some of the fg vs fg fighters.

just a thought.

The problem is that these groups are fighting in common places - around docks etc where lots of Albs are liekly to be - I don't go looking for their fights to add (though after the last week I am sorely tempted to). If what they really want are group fights they should play on the server designed for it, or at the very least not try and conduct their play style at places that will be passed by almost every Alb in rvr.

Again large scale RVR i just find is brutally punishing and unrewarding. We still have the populations on the servers to make good RVR viable.. We just need a system that makes this more possible really.
I agree with censi

I find it hard to get Good rps out of Zergs, and going Solo can be a pain unless ur camping a tower to death, which gets soooooo boring, GOA/mythic have to come up with a away to make Duels/small group combat, more vaible in NF, I do like NF layout tho but imo Put DF back on Keeps controlled ^^

Lol, lame ass l33t fg vs fg :)
I see leet fg's gank solo, duo players non stop as they run in with speed 6...
And yet those fg's complain when someone adds on their precious fight on beno bridge/docks or crim dock/bridge...
New server types are a dumb idea. The best thing is to concentrate player base to keep things interesting for the existing users while the Dev team goes about fixing gameplay.
Mind you, these l33t groups are the onces that are not interested in player balance. Their epeen depends on being uber, etc. Groups like Nolby Pricks would break down and cry in real life if they could not play their OP toons.
Reason Hibs left due to grouppurge, nice example of crying over loosing some OP skill...

You're aware that the players in NP probably play albion more than midgard right? And that's just on excal, if you count other servers it's not even close? You didn't know that? I'm not surprised since you never seem to have even the faintest clue about anything.

You know that all players have to lvl and gain realm ranks and gear, even the elite groups, so all elite players have started small with low rr's and shit, still they have played elite, and doing good. Its not just about the char's you play that makes em elite, its the players, the way they play, the teamwork they have and picking the correct targets and routes to take and everything. To study the game and learn everything about it. Elite players usually do that with shitty chars aswell. I have played with elite players who plays a char really good, even tho its low realm rank, and not an OP toon as you say. They played good cause of their skillz and not their OP toon!

Reasons for new server types:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MYTHIC ENTERTAINMENT TO POSTPONE PRODUCTION OF "IMPERATOR" MMORPG

Company to focus development on "Warhammer" MMORPG and "Dark Age of Camelot"

FAIRFAX, VA - July 13, 2005 - Mythic Entertainment, developer and publisher of massively-multiplayer online role-playing games, today announced the production postponement of "Imperator," the sci-fi MMORPG previously scheduled for a June 2006 release. The decision was made after a complete internal review of the project status.

"This was the most difficult decision that we have ever had to make," said Mark Jacobs, CEO and president of Mythic Entertainment. "However, our tremendous success with 'Dark Age of Camelot' set the standard for Mythic of releasing nothing less than triple-A games, and 'Imperator' was simply not meeting that standard."

There are no personnel layoffs planned as a result of this decision. Staff will be reassigned to the ongoing development of "Dark Age of Camelot" including the next expansion, "Darkness Rising," scheduled for Q4 '05. In addition some personnel have already been assigned to the new "Warhammer" MMORPG which Mythic announced at E3 in May 2005.

"Our team made a tremendous effort with the game and the praise it drew at E3 and in previews reflected their skill and dedication," Jacobs continued. "But in the final analysis it just wasn't great enough to be a Mythic game at this time."

Mythic will perform an internal reassessment of the game's features and make a decision on how to proceed with its development in the future.

The decision to postpone "Imperator" also means that the company's plans to establish a European publishing office have been postponed. It is expected that those plans will resume as the company prepares for its 2007 worldwide publication of the "Warhammer" MMORPG.

This is partially correct, there are groups out there which leave soloers alone and they have my huge respect for doing so. The thing is, you can't say, I don't add on them if they don't kill me solo, someone has to start it, so I avoid fg fights, sometimes I /cheer or just walk by. Yes, I got abuse for just standing there and watching and tbh, I think these people are idiots, but still I will not add on their fights, cause maybe the other group is having fun aswell, I wouldn't like to spoil their fun just cause of personal revenge against someone else.

There is also another problem ( a problem that I, as support player, especially have ): What if I play bard and suddenly some damage dealers unstick to nuke an enemy down? Often enough I can't react fast enough and ask for not doing it. What if I play druid and some ppl add on a fight, am I supposed not to heal, can't really do that aswell =)

This is complete crap Glottis. Every realm has shown that winning is possible, just the class balance on some classes is crap, which means at every time in this game, a certain type of class was/is considered fotm. Just take the mage example. Before ToA and the common banelord setups, mages ruled the battlefield by far. Their superior dmg ouput was uber. Let's just take mentalists here, cause that's something I'm familiar with. In OF without ToA they were one of the best casters and nuked the hell out of our enemies. They had STT to counter enemy pets and self purge. Then ToA came, mages could be interrupted all the time by just pushing a banelord button ( ok, I'm exagerating a bit here, but that's how it feels =) ) and people swiched to tanks more.

The point is that the fixed groups or the ppl who play a lot have it much easier to adopt a new style, so they are ofc much stronger cause of this. The day Mythic manages to balance out classes in RvR it will hurt a lot of people, I agree to that, but it will also benefit a lot of people. Today's RvR is a lot ( not completely ofc ) of a choice between classes/ML's/RA's and that's a huge mistake, so instead of giving thousands of new server types, Mythic should balance out what they have to make every char have at least one good way of competing in RvR ( I said "at least one", I don't ask for enchantment chanters to get super utility, or verdant anis or whatever PvE specline ).

The game is more and more geared towards people who play a lot, which is ofc intended, but I guess it also scares customers away and I don't think people would play less if some things in the game were easier to achieve ( ML's, artis, scrolls etc. ).

This ofc would mean a complete redesign of all ML's, the way artis are activated/lvl'd, the speclines, the RA's and that's the hard job Mythic has. You can patch things, players will thank you for it, but the majority of the players want new things every now and then, so you need new expansions and I think Mythic is atm walking a narrow line between adding new content and fixing old stuff. You can clearly see they're trying to improve things, but they're also under a constant pressure of trying to get new players.

That's what I think =)

Mythic never tryed to balance the classes 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1.... Neither have they tryed to balance grp setups 8v8v8.
They taken the much easier way and balanced Alb vs Hib vs Mid.

Balancing all classes vs each others would require 900+ tests and if some class wasnt balanced they would need tweak it and restart the testing.

8v8 is even harder to balance as their is so many diffrent grp setups possible and all abilities still make a inpact on the outcome.

Realm vs Realm is very easy to balance. No ability is so OP that it singlehandly win a RvR fight.

I know it was Jilocasin who told her to die and that you were the one who called her a retard, and it all began because she dared to add on a fight you were in. Doesn't matter how many times you have done it, doing it even once to a decent genuine person like Favail is out of order in my book. If someone ends up in tears because you spit your dummy out over them adding then you do deserve it. Pity really, because you used to be a decent bloke...
