New RP System on US servers

Well, people who play for rps (tho it's quite possible to enjoy playing in a decent group) will still make more rps than others, but the new system screws over people who made a lot of rps in the past, rather than in the future, which is a shame :/

its always 2-sided. being in a proper fg is cool, something i never had, sure id like to. but on the other hand, getting to high rr in a proper group is pretty easy, doesnt require too much skill, at least not as much as you need if you achieve that high rr in solo/duo/pugs... so yes, i kinda dismiss/laugh at every1 who thinks he's uber because he got to rr7+ in a regular guild group or something. thats the very easy mode.

You dont just randomly get into proper guild groups. If proper groups took on any old noob then they wouldnt be proper groups, they would suck

but how about giving valid/reachable goals to average players(like that even they can get to rr10, and not only the cube head bug abusers with a stabile guild group)? most players have no chance to get to rr10 even in years and even if they know how to play their class good. (although some formerly mentioned ppl can get 2 * rr10'S without the need of skill) this might change a bit, and im happy about it.

People play the game for different reasons and different purposes. Some want high rr, some want to be part of something bigger like a guild and to make it work, some want to be able to do alot of stuff in PvE with as few people as poss in shortest time poss. Not everyones goal is RR10. But if it is your goal, and someone else can get it without breaking a sweat and just adding like pure madness with their new fotm class and they do it in a week, it kinda makes you wanna throw something hard at someone.

Getting high rr in a proper group is indeed easier than solo, just facts but then again it aint easymode if you dont rule the server. I myself run a lil 8man group on prydwen and we dont stand up to the top guilds(yet), I run a very good 8man guild on US servers and the only reason we are good are cause americans cant rvr etc right?(Even though 80% of our enemies are europeans etc).

If you refer to my rr7+ merc getting his rr in easymode I suggest you keep your mouth shut since Iam one of the few old mercs left on pryd and rr7l3 in that time isnt very impressive, Maybe cause I played solo unbuffed to rr5, pve nerding for years until I even touched rvr.

But I think you are a bit to negative and aggressive towards 8v8ers.

sure, getting noobs would ruin the group, but most of the time it has nothing to do with skill. its more like irl friends, and if you happen to live in a country where you can hardly meet any foreigners, and only 10 ppl play daoc from the whole nation, you start from a great disadvantage.

Edit: oh and I see now, FH isn't the place this point of view can live for long, because this is the home of the l33t players, who think they're cool because they are high rr(even tho they got it in the very very easy mode), so im off, have a nice day.

Realm Rank does not make a good player. U can ebay a rr11 toon. A good player will be a good player no matter what skin u dress him in.

Put somone of low skill/experience in a RR13 toon against a similiar RR1 toon with somone of vast skill/expereince and i would put money on it that the RR1 toon would win 9/10 fights.

There simply is no substitute for experience.


But saying that, somone who has played a char from lvl 1 to lvl 50 rr10 will still be of comparable skill to the old skool rr13. Its not like u can spend 1 day in rvr and get 6 million rps, it is still hardwork and will require alot of time/effort.

If anything the high rr set groups should applaud this move as it will give them alot more opponenets with comparable RA's, therefore tougher fights which is what they crave.

I've been getting lots of groups with low effort with knowing no-one irl that plays daoc, and I can't say I meet many foreigners in a small town in sweden. ~~

He referred to AoD in his every post if I'm right, since he was AoD member for a while. AoD was an only hungarian guild and we made guild grp with only aod members in it thus only hungarian members, who know each other from irl as well. Since we running sg, and there is 8 place in it and aod had more players than 8, we had always trouble with those who just couldnt get into the grp, many left the game, or the guild or the server, rest aren't, those are the ones still playing.
If I knew why I'm bothered to write this down >.< anyway, there is no way to make everyone happy.

I would put money on it that the rr13 beats the rr1.

DAoC is today built on onebuttonIwins sadly. You just cannot compete without some of the tools offered in the form of RAs.

Id say a solid rr6 > an ebayed rr13 though in most cases which only is 1mill RPs which isnt much at all.

The good thing with this new system is that its alot easier now to do this:

Take a bunch of friends, go roll mid on MLF, TOA, go RVR, get a decent RR and compete with the highRRgrps out there. Which I believe is good but, its a sucky thing for EU really, since EU offer little to no possibility to change realms and try out new stuff. Its far better in US if we put it in that light and my guess is, Mythic planned for that, for their own serverenvironment, not for EU with one cluster for english people to play which is very limited.
