My money is on mobo / ram. More often than not, RAM issues will go away after re-seating the sticks and/or blowing air into the slots. Trying a different slot would also be good.
What does the bluescreen say? Does it reference a particular .sys file? If it does, it could indicate a driver or overheating issue (ie, videocard overheating).
Borrow a memory stick from a mate, see if the issue persists.
Failing all of the above, motherboard is probably fuxxored. In which case, you either go for a entirely new platform (mobo + cpu + videocard), or just mobo + videocard, plus extra 4GB of ram, keeping your x4. Second option will last you another two years, easy.
