My money is on mobo / ram. More often than not, RAM issues will go away after re-seating the sticks and/or blowing air into the slots. Trying a different slot would also be good.

What does the bluescreen say? Does it reference a particular .sys file? If it does, it could indicate a driver or overheating issue (ie, videocard overheating).

Borrow a memory stick from a mate, see if the issue persists.

Failing all of the above, motherboard is probably fuxxored. In which case, you either go for a entirely new platform (mobo + cpu + videocard), or just mobo + videocard, plus extra 4GB of ram, keeping your x4. Second option will last you another two years, easy.

I've tried swapping the RAM into different slots as well as using some brand new sticks of RAM I borrowed from a mate and that didn't fix it either.

See above ;).

It hasn't been coming up with any kind of system file error when it blue screens, more often than not just a very vague one suggesting if any files are noted to check on them, of which there never is any noted. I've Googled the code and most the recommendations are fixes I've already tried to no avail.
