I have an SLi ready 939 board, I purposefully bought an Athlon 64 3500+ at the time because the X2's all cost > £500 which for a processor is a tad rediculous.
But the whole thing is totally upgradable now, i'll probably give it a while and upgrade the processor to something that can handle the SLi and buy another 6800, for hopefully next to nothing, and get a nice 50% speed boost.
I remember reading a review of SLi somewhere when it first came out that said it wasnt worth bothering with if you had anything less than an X2. Because it all gets bottlenecked.
Couldnt afford an X2 so I bought with the future upgrade in mind. 550W power supply, big case, 939 SLi mobo, fast memory etc. My master plan seems to be coming into fruition! Still X2 4400 is what £300? Maybe i'll leave it a bit longer..
