whats the easiest least work way of rebuilding the OS as i have just had to replace my mobo

would it be reinstalling over the previous version?

then reinstalling all the apps / games etc ?

Logically you shouldn't have to. But if you did, a format would be a quick way (XP takes less than 20m to install these days tbh)

Changing motherboards without doing a reinstall, especially if you change chipset, can be quite dodgy. It may work, or you may end up with all sorts of strange errors.

Definitely not recommended.

nope seems the new mobo that was put in has a borked ethernet controller cause tho it says its there in device manager all the drivers i tried for it (cd for the mobo, updated drivers from gigabytes webbie, realtek drivers from the chip makers webbie etc etc, ) none will be recognised and when forcing the install of the driver it borks out failing to start the controller .....

Grrrr one dead mobo followed by a borked one :'(
