Who wrote Martin Scorsese? :)

Someone commented about this in the new season thread, it's a HBO show ( sopranos, wire, etc ) with Steve Buscemi - why the fuck WOULDNT you watch it?

Thought it was a bit shat, early days yet but it is competing with SoA with us so it doesn't stand much of a chance.

I do love the scouser who plays Al Capone though, he will keep me watching if nothing else.

Slightly disappointed in all honesty, thought it was over hyped and had been seen before, more than a lot of it was a rip off of Millers Crossing (if you haven't seen that you are a massive queer).

I will agree the season opener was a bit slow, but you can see the massive potential, my only criticism would be improving the musical score - there are so many great classic songs from that era they could use.

Indeed, but, what I think the writer is trying to do is get all the facts in.

I hope it speeds up and doesn't do the typical violence-at-the-end-of-the-episode thing that most US series tend to do these days too much.

Will watch the next one for sure.

I quite liked it. Nothing too intense but set out some back story whilst making it quite clear that they'll happily throw in some Sopranos level violence to move a story along.

Very promising.

Oh, I was a bit upset however when
I thought they were killing the young lad but instead it was the irish womans husband

Why would they
have killed Jimmy rather than the hubby? I thought that was very obvious, Steve's character doesn't like men that are violent to wimmins.

Yes I know, that said it would have been an unexpected twist and it wasn't clear to me who was grabbed off the street until he turned up again on the boat.

I think you had a bad quality copy - or you were not paying enough attention.

It was the street where he and his wife lived, we saw it three times, when she was dropped off by Jimmy, when they had dinner, and when he beat her and left. Also, it looked like him, nothing like Jimmy. there was no attempt for me at all to make you wonder who it was, it was quite clear :)

really enjoyed the first episode.

really don't understand how you could be confused about who was being picked up in that car - it is established very early that enoch abhors violence against women and also has a soft spot for babies (the scene spent staring in to the place filled with baby incubators) and moreover, there is only one significant male character that is seen on that street.

need to get a better source, there were loads of artefacts and ghosting when I tried to watch last night. What I saw looked interesting though; you never really see stories about the early stages of prohibition, its always the late "Untouchables" period normally.

There should be a HD version that is just a shade over 2gig, it's good quality.

The scene with Nelson writing the letter home was awesome.

Loving this so far, great storyline with a ton of interesting characters. The production values are very high, the outfits are fantastic, not to mention it's not at all stingy on the boobie factor :p

Stopped watching it, was too boring for me and the wife. Shame really, mind you we are both finding SoA really predictable and that is getting pretty boring as well.

Back to UK stuff atm, The Trip is awesome, How Not to Live Your Life is also very good and of course the Alan Partridge stuff once a week on the Fosters Funny site, which, is quite frankly fantastic.

It's so engrossing, I get upset when the episode ends.
