pbaz's point is right about the cost of an item being reduced if the monster is killed as often as possible...

however it means the chance of getting the item in the "fun" way of killing the monster to get the loot is much reduced.

Call me old fashioned but I'm not so big a fan of killing Consignment Merchants as epic monsters.

That said, for artifacts, when you get 8 of you together to kill a fg monster, there's only one item, and since all 8 of you have killed the epic monster (so you all have credit) you can make up the shortfall in loot by buying them (without being able to avoid the killing the monster stage entirely like normal items).

That and I'm a cheap bastard ;) and my idea of "a fair price" is about 1/4 of the average person selling things.

Oh well I'll buy what I need when Catacombs comes out and noone wants any of that old ToA junk anymore.

I'll also echo Lalia's point on camping artifacts - camping an artifact entitles you to know that it's up before I do, if I come there with a group capable of doing it and you're sitting there solo (unless it's a soloable artifact of course) then I'll be taking my shot at it.

Of course if you've got a group there, maybe missing one person or are buffing up then it's your encounter, I'll be moving on :) that's just being polite.

Why do I think this? because you shouldn't _have_ to be online 24 hours camping a spot to have a chance at a particular artifact encounter.

Yeah it's too bad SoM for example is still camped 24/24 - 7 days a week...

I did encounter with my scout like...at least 10 times...never won the cloak tho :p

Making every arti mob spawn like every 2-3 hours would speed up (lower prices) a lot...and make it possible for everyone to rather quickly get their ToA template together and lvl em...and go back to RvR etc.

Can't wait for patch were they change the xp spots...will make it a bit easier to level some arti's.

And like previous poster said...with new expansion ToA items will probably be crap again...so everyone will try to get the new "uber" items as fast as possible.

hehe if u read CoC it doesn't say you can own or "camp" a place in th game, just says you can't leech off an already pulled mob if you are not grouped with puller. :eek6:

It's just to ignore the camping guys and go pull if it's up... BUT the thing is that it's an unwritten rule not to pull a camped place.

Conclusion:
You can pull from a camped place, but you risk to get a bad rumor or get flamed at FH (not many likes that) :p


And no i would't personally pull from an already camped place :)

true, CoC doesn't really speak about camping etc.. just leeching and stealing in a way...but

if you would send in a couple of complaints to Rightnow about the fact that ppl seem to camp a spot....where in a way they claim the rights to that mob... they are violating things according to Righnow personel. There is NO way, according to rightnow, a person can Claim a mob or spawn...
I'm talking about the times when SI released and loads of fights were held about a couple of mobs... You can however hunt in the region of a mob and if it pops... then kill it if you PULL first (eg;mostly i was hunting machines at gwyntell for drakorian faction and TK spawned there..then still other ppl thought that if a mob spawn 50 meters away , out of sight from them: and you pull it cause you are near.. they start fighting, leeching, breaking CoC). So here in TOA it isn't always about a single mob.. it is about a part of a zone mostly cause the events are bigger but still camping a spot is, in a way, claiming rights on a spot.
So i personally still think that the same rules should apply here: Fist pulled, or initiated, gets the rights to the event of mob.

i think that most ppl DO understand the fact that if they camp an artifact, to see if it spawns, do know that there is a chance that from spawn moment on other ppl will pass and pull...

main problem is that a little evil voice in their heads makes them verry angry because they feel treated un-fair and go to a forum to cry about it..

SO camping itselfe isn't bad or wrong.. but it still doesn't give anyone the right to stop other ppl from obtaining it before the camper has his force there.

i think that is the risk that campers will have to learn and live with. If they understand that... a lot of problems would be solved as well.

So camping = NO RIGHTS TO THE EVENT
camping = beeing there from spawn time on and hope you get ppl there before others get there.
