Ok, just curious. What exactly is it you think was lame...the actual number of necromancers used...or the fact they all nuked people through walls with their pets?

If it was the number, then i don't see your problem. For example, if 8 pbaoers turned up to help you defend a keep would you turn half of them away saying that to use so much pbaoe on the second door or at the lord if miraculously they made it that far would be lame? If that many necros turned up and were willing to help take the keep, why not use them?


Secondly, on the nuking people inside the keep. What would you rather the necro do? Everything a necro does is through his pet, so if you stop him from using the bug/feature/whatever people want to call it then all he can do is stand about doin nothin. Maybe attack someone who pops their head up inside the keep, but then that would be risky, bcos they might jump back down as you are nuking and you lose los then they'll moan that you were still hittin em...you'd have to try and work out when you should be aloud to nuke and when not...which is absurd, the game should be doin that for you. Would you be complaining so much if they'd used 8 gtaoers to take the keep? Because that is a very similar thing.

Faeldawn i didnt personally get owned i wasnt that stupid to hang about in keep when everone else was getting nuked to hell from necros untouchable by mids in lord room,ironicly i ran away and got killed by a luri in a nice 1vs1.Lessurl 8 necros all nuking u from 2300 range away with u having no way of attacking back is quite frankly a shit way to die,well dont u think ? U say about 8 pbaoers on a gate but at least with 8 pbaoers on a gate u can fight them off with a aoe dot or a aoe mezz or aoe hammers or gtaoe.Fact is u could do summt vs 8 pbaoers defending/attacking a gate but nothiing vs 8 necros casting hassle free though walls miles away surrounded by 15-20 albs inside courtyard of keep.Ppl say whine etc were owned well i wasnt but a lot of other ppl were and got so pissed off they just logged,not the thing u want really is it,ppl will use this non "bug" that isnt a "bug" according to mythic but is it right that next patch the necro is the only pet class that gets a los fix ? They say they cant change chanter pets or summit cus it messes with game code on them ? I dunno perhaps someone knows what exactly they plan to do.

Hmm this whole LoS issue seems to create a lot of anger...

I personally find it not "fair" using the missing LoS from Necros (I'm and alb), but that will soon be corrected.

But it's not only the Necros! LoS troubles all classes with nuking/ranged pets:

Chanters (ofc ...xD - 1 pet 1500 range snarenuke with no mana pool)

Mentas (hmm not in BG perhaps - haven't found castermobs there)

Animists (!!! imagine 24 shrooms on the other side of the keep door...)

Bonedancers (not sure if its possible in BG... only seen healers/tanks there - but l8er ranged pets are possible - and then 3 of em)

Necros (one pet - manapool but manatap, 1500 range (2300 range is just not right Grandpeck - even Boltrange is 1800 only))

Sorcerors (ever seen a Sorc defending Benowyc with a windchaser pet? AE nukes without LoS - you can be happy that there are so few sorcs out there)

So i see that you have a problem with classes that are stronger than they should in specific situations (lordroom/gates/BG bridge/etc.) - we have em aswell.

btw. And where there are loads of "NERF NECRO"-threads out there I didnt see a single "NERF ANIMISTS"-thread... even though 1-2 of em fought back a whole 2fg albs trying to take the keep back (yeah, the hibs are proud on defending the keep vs big numbers of albs - and have no problem of 24 pets nukin through the gates... plus 2-3 chanterpets). But hey... we Albs whine soo much isnt it so?

LINE OF SIGHT FIXES

- Necromancers now must be visible to their controlled creatures to perform "pet cast" spells. This fixes the exploit where Necromancers could park their pets in keep towers and wander around outside, and have their pets cast at the Necromancer's target.

- Pets of classes such as the Enchanter, Animist, and Bonedancer (and any other class that can cast offensive spells) will not be able to cast spells on a target unless that target is visible to the pet. We expect this fix to take care of the LOS issues for Enchanter-type pets most of the time, but players still may run into situations where the spells are cast even though the pet cannot "see" its target. We will continue to work on this problem as needed.

You mentioned gtaoe as a way to combat lots of pbaoers in a keep, well gtaoe could also have been used against all the necromancers in the courtyard. You may or may not have had a gtaoer with you but you have to admit that there wasn't nothing that could have been done. I'm sure there are other tactics that could have been used not employing gtaoers but i just picked that one up out of your reply to me.

And i think cobalt made a good point when he mentions the loads of nerf necro threads and the lack of nerf other class threads. The main problem with necros is that they looked like (and possibly are) such a fun class to play that albs have rolled them in abundance. Necros are all over the place and keep turning up in such large numbers as it's hard to defend against. For example, if 8 gtaoers had been in the courtyard of the ck instead of the necros the result would have been the same as they could have nuked everyone in the lords room without them being able to attack back. The only difference being that the gtaoe casters in each realm are by no way as popular to play as a necro is and you'd be hard pressed to see even 1 of them there.

2 intelligent replies im so happy.Having not played a necro i not 100% sure on range etc but they are a nasty char to come up agaisnt.I have no problem with dying in bg and rvr u just have to put up with it ofc /release and come back its when the fight is worth nothing thats when i dont bother.
Healers are only powerful in rvr in a group and exactly like alb's shortage of clerics we have exactly the same problem in Mid atm.Lots of zerks being played/leveled now on mid and i find it funny that they have a end/la nerf comming,just as on the other hand in alb hardly any albs play sorcs and they get major love to make ppl play them so alb has cc ,mythic sure has a strange way of balancing this game i feel,i sometimes wonder if they have ever "really" played this game to understand where they are going wrong.
Its a shame really cus this game is one of the best i have played.But i think for large fights etc it would help if goa would ONLY upgrade excali to cope with the lag caused by the large amounts of ppl.Less lag plz goa make us all happy.
