Necromancer Facilitate Painworking.

Right. For those of you who don't know what this is it's basically Quick Cast. It's named differently because all Necromancer spells go through the pet, meaning that only the pet needs this spell, so this also means that only the pet can use it.

Anyway, I have noticed that you can fit 2 casts for a Necromancer into the space from the start of the count down to the end. However, I have also noticed that you need a well timed push of this button for it to go off at the correct moment. That isn't the real problem though. The main problem I have seen is that the damn thing hardly goes off. Sometimes you get a mob with resist after resist and you may absolutely need the cast to stand a good chance of killing it. Yeah, you're all probably going to say "Well don't rely on it!"... Well the truth is... I don't. Sometimes I like to use this cast, afterall that's what it's there for. But it just hardly ever goes off and this is both frustrating and annoying. To the people planning a Necromancer; use this as a warning. To the people who have a Necromancer in process, or did; I pose to you these questions:

1) Do you have this problem?
2) Do you know if there is anyway around this problem? (Exact moment to cast etc.)
3) Is there EVER going to be a fix for it?
4) Has anyone else noticed this in the past? (Because if noone else has noticed this, then not much can be done about it.)

I know Necromancers are bugged in many areas, such as Realm Abilites, but from the PvE perspective, if this is a universal problem I really do think it needs to be addressed and fixed. Sure you're probably thinking it's not as major as other things, but come on... It's there for using. It's whole meaning is to ignore the pain and not be interrupted, but if it hardly ever goes off it's not much use is it?

Thanks for reading.

i got a answer to 2.) =)

you press FP and the spell you want then when you hear that sound you press again

and when your fully buffed you can get 3 spells off during FP time

Press FP and the first spell just after your pet swung his sword. Then when he starts to cast (I don't have sound in most solo pve) press the 2nd spell.

That's a tip, not really an answer. You are still relying on the fact that Facilitate Painworking goes off in the first place...

Yeah I do time it so as I'll get the best possible outcome, however the main problem is that it just won't go off half the time.

The only time I've found for it not to go off is when I am casting lifetaps on the mob at the same time then try to quickcast as well. If I stop casting lifetaps, then wait for my pet to hit mob, hit quickcast then power tap, then wait, then hit power tap again when hear teh sound, and it works 100%.

Try that.

Yeah, I forgot to tell that you shouldn't have any instant spells in the queue when you want to do FP.

Yes... This helps, but I still get it failing whilst my pet is in combat and I use the cast. I had no instants in line-up and it still failed.

yep its a bug with the spell queue

If you cast a spell, then fp then another spell before the fp goes off, the fp is lost in the chain, same with lifetaps heals ect

basically the easiest way to get it working is to completely clear you chain, then use it queue the next spell behind it wait for it to work then cast another

no it doesn’t get fixed or show any sign of being fixed EVER!

Also it apparently has lots of problems with passive mode

FP goes off after x.xspd swing time of pets sword/hands

FP doesn't queue with other spells... therefore, your pet HAS to be in manual combat before you can use it

Thats the closest youll get to an answer.

FP will still bug (fail to cast) from time to time - nothing you can do about it.

Dont try to use it in passive mode, itll fail more than it works and slowly drive you crazy.

I have noticed that also....hardly ever goes off...then sometimes i can get 2 spells off using it !!.......also....the amount of resists we get is beyond a joke...on average i cast about 10 spells...and at least 7 of them will be resisted. I think the only way i can kill the mob is when it dies laughing !!! (o:

As medowwind says yes its a known bug along with the other bugs which have not been fixed in US yet.
Damn annoying though in a tight situation.

this is how u do it.

1. make sure u dont have any spells in queue.. let the pet hit without any spells going off.
2. when the pet swings his sword, cast FP and spell1
3. when the pet actually starts to cast spell1 u cast spell2 and 2x lifedrain shouts...

now these shouts wont affect any of the spells that the pet is going to cast... as its the necro himself that casts em...

so basically on a orange White light... without crits... this chain will do like

500dmg + 500dmg +250+250 if there are no resists or crits... the hp on the mob will go down so fast u will wonder if u actually fought the damn thing.

Wrong, all spells and instas go throught the pet. Try using the insta/insta single target debuff while you use FP, 50% of time it will interrupt the second spell. Same with the shade version of the lifetap.

Having got 4.4bubs on my necro now at 50 I have a pretty good understanding of FP and frankly it blows goats big stylie.

1. Aii
2. When your pet swings hit the FP button AND the spell you wish to cast, When the pet starts to actually cast hit second spell, you may be lucky and get a 3rd, if your buffed you migth get a 3rd, hit it when you get 2nd spell cast.
3. It aint broke just very very lame (Quite lag dependant too).
4. Yup and Yup

note: DO NOT have any other spells queued, instas screw it big style, it IS interuptable.

Also note that if your pet blocks hit the FP+spell at that point and you'll get a quicker initial cast :)
