Using three pieces to summon has allowed me to nearly cap power, which I believe will become much more useful after it is changed.

Yes, it does require overcharging the summoning boots and gloves, but having +power nearly capped is worth the extra money needed for two more overcharges.

The reason there is a +2 Power gem on the summoning boots and gloves is to make sure there were a full four gems, for the highest possible safety when overcharging. As any experienced SC'er will tell you, an empty slot counts as a 94% quality gem.

Forgive me, but could you explain why it'd be necessary to switch cloth armour simply to summon a pet?

I can't understand why you would want to?

When you summon the pet your con and hits are transferred over to it and stay with it until the pet dies. As the shade has no need of the con or hits you can simply remove the items and put something more useful on instead (such as resists etc). :)

Items are overcharged, attempting 5pt overcharge with only 3 gems has a fairly high chance of failure, and item being destroyed.

Any old gem would do in the +power slot of summoning items - Im assuming whoever made this template just used +power in place of any random gem type.

+power is worthless, but if theres space you may as well take it.
