Got quoted 1700 to insure a Mk 2 Golf GTi 16v. For some reason it was 1700 for the 8v too. Bah humbug

Yes. It was bought under the premise of it being a 1.3. On further investigation though, it's actually a 1.8. To start with the 1.8 sticker on the back has been a little messed up, and at a glance it looks like 1.3, look closer and you can see the 3 isn't a 3, but a fucked up 8. And if you run an insurance quote on it, it'll come up as a 1.8 from the reg number.

Pain in the arse isn't it? Cheapest insurance I could find was over £1200 with me as the main driver. This way I get to drive a better car, and for less money on the insurance.

No actually see stats that show your age group are involved in a hell of a lot more accidents than any other. BTW car insurance companies haven't made any money for a good few years now

Aye, I'm a man under 25, and I've had 2 crashes.
I was just unlucky, and since in one I was sitting at a set of red traffic lights with my handbrake on, I feel a little hard done by. But I'm still a bad statistic. Is it not something like 70% of crashes involve men under 25?

TBH I find this hard to believe, I've have seen them say it.
But if a company offered a service that it didn't make any profit from why would it continue to offer it?
Fair enough some companies say if you have our Car insurance you get 10% off our house insurance or something, but some companies only do car insurance...

Shame insurance on my Cinquecento Sporting (which is just as fast the the MGB) is only 300 a year. Not bad for a 21 year old (altho 4 years no claims helps)

for my BMW, with me as the main driver it would of cost me 2k
lol, and thats at 18, with 3 years NCB (used mop NCB)
with dad as main, and me as second, went down to 800
tis just stupid the way it works... all comes down to personal injury claims...
