Definately improved as of 1.62. Mez or some replacement still needs sorted. I think Summoning SMs still need something for RvR, most probably different types of pet and definately a healing pet.

Haven't been able to get out enough since 1.62 to comment but so far the signs are good.

3.How much longer do you intend to play the game?

None, I run away from all equally. Ok, there is no one particular class that kills me more than any other.

Decent RAs.

Anyone who isn't AFK. Possibly chanters as they can harass me with nuking pets and I have no insta DDs of any type.

I don't think its too unbalanced as such, but I do think with the diversity of classes its harder to get an effective combination of skills in a group. This coupled with the fact people will often play the current favoured class of a particular realm means balanced groups are a problem, not balancing between realms. Having played both Hib and Mid now in RvR, both realms complain about the other being overpowered. I'd bet if I played Alb I'd find the same thing.

8.Which classes/spec do you feel need to be changed to fit rvr roles more and how?

9.If you could change one thing with your class what would it be?

Area lifedrain that heals the group.

With my BD, yes; although his group friendliness leaves a lot to be wished for, but in general (and especially with a darkcarver specced RM) he performs well.

I enjoy playing my zerker a lot too, despite the fact that I don't think a that severe decrease in LA damage was justified, not for a berserker class anyway. But he does good, loaded with Prevent Flight even better.

My summoning SM ... well, I know I specced her with PvE in mind, but at some level I would really like to see the pet specializations being viable in RvR. This applies to all pet classes.

2.Do you like rvr at the moment?

It has started to become rather tedious, for some reason I can't explain.

As a "non-uber guild", you basically have three choices:

1) Go to Emain, where a) your realm is currently the one zerging, thus leaving your group no enemies to kill, or b) the enemy is currently zerging, thus your group gets farmed by 3fg+ zerg-aroused guardians/warders/myrmidons or savants/cosantoirs/brehons (being mid 'n all), or you will c) get multi-whiped by the so-called 'uber-groups'.

2) Take your group to Odin's/Hadrian's, where you in 85% of the cases won't find anything remotely worth bringing a whole group for: i.e. mostly minor groups, soloers and stealthers you won't find anyway. 10% of the times you get zerged, either by a keep raid force or just by pathetic zerg-aroused guardians/warders/myrmidons or savants/cosantoirs/brehons (being mid 'n all). 5% of the times, decent group vs. group fights actually do occur, and that's where I like RvR the most! Will you believe it? 5% of the time I RvR it kicks arse!

3) Go raid/defend a keep to get DF.

4) Solo and get farmed.

Until I start on university, where I will sell my account to pay for the books.

I'm a BD, what the fuck do I have to fear?

Hehe, well, seriously. In group vs. group combat, as a BD, I 'fear' mercs and BM's the most, as they have access to Prevent Flight, thus eliminating my chances to kite. Also pole armsmen with that friggin' snare anytimer bugs me. Enchanters, if they are more than one and are assisting. If it's just one I won't mind until he MoC's.

5.What one thing would you wish for your realm to have?

Can I change the nature of the question to something else? In which case it would be:

What one thing would you wish for the two other realms were to be removed?

Group realm abilities. It's too hard to balance 'group realm abilities' so that one doesn't become too overpowered and another too underpowered in comparison. And I don't think it's reasonable to allow for 'I WIN' realm abilities to decide combats. Basically the game just ends with who has a given RA and who doesn't. That's not interesting RvR. So no group realm abilities to anyone, in my opinion.

6.Who is your toughest enemy to kill?

Everyone is equally tough if they have a good char and play it well. This doesn't include support classes, obviously.

7.Do you think game is more unbalanced now than it's ever been?

Yes. The latest very severe fixes, tweaks, nerfs and lovings has left some classes behind while prodding others forward out of proportion (cough, minstrels, cough), that along with abilities, item changes and what have you. It's my notion that DAoC had more balance earlier and needs far more balancing now than ever. Just the fact that there's a heavy demand for Teamleads now says a lot about game balance, in my opinion.

8.Which classes/spec do you feel need to be changed to fit rvr roles more and how?

Bone army and Darkness both need some group utility and the pets in both lines fixed for the BD class.

Thrust needs to have that long stun either decreased or to have Dragonfang pop off as a chain. An infil doesn't fight many fights without evade, so giving him 9 second stun seems a bit over the top against the two other assassin classes.

Make the PBT spec for theurgs (earth?) more attractive ...

Remove heat debuff from the mana line for chanters. Maybe make it instant, place it in the pet spec line and give the pet spec line a pet that can nuke with heat dmg?

And some other things, but this post is getting too long anyway, so I'll save 'em for later.

9.If you could change one thing with your class what would it be?

BD: Make the castable melee absorb shield 12% and make it a group spell. It takes about 50% power to buff 7 people at the moment.

Zerker: Give the zerkers back our old 'Aurora Borealis' 50 LA style and make it smack off 'You Parry' instead of 'target parries'.

- Runemaster - yes very much - bolts are uber and debuff nuking is great too. Shamie I had to give pbt up for it though.

- Healer - pacification spec NO way - baod, determination stacking with resists and group purge make my pac healer feel useless 9 times out of 10. Just respecced to aug / mend - maybe that will work better?

2.Do you like rvr at the moment?

- It has some good moments, but no one really seems to care about taking keeps, and guilds from the same realm seem to be more in competition with each other for RPzzz than teamworking.

-I dunno - some nights I feel like packing it all in - another couple of months though at least I think.

Icky tanks that come right for me and stun me!!

Then again if it only costs like £15 or something - I'd probably just get it anyway - but no waiting up til 1am to get it registered on the website like with SI - I'll just calmly wait it out and get it a week or two after.

Also I think the LA nerf and the shammy end nerf was abit severe. Dont get me wrong, they were both needed but poorly done imo. All I can say is that im glad I dont play SB.

Cant really go into alb classes and suggest anything cus I have never experienced alb first hand since beta but with there large amounts of classes to stuff into a 8 person group there's probably alot to ask for.

9. Hitting for more then 219 on naked bluecon bard fully buffed with anytimer would be nice. Other then that nothing.

In RvR my damage output sucks, my cc rarely sticks and my survivability is a total joke.

1. Bard is excellent, major challenge, surely one of the most difficult classes in the game, great fun.
Warden - passive abilities, nothing else, damned boring.

2. RvR could be soooooooo much worse for sure.

3. Until WoW comes out, maybe shorter.

4. Savage Healer and BD.

5. AoE stun, even if it isn't instant like mid one.

6. Savage or any dual wielder frontloader class tbh.

7. No game has been much less balanced than it is now, pretty balanced tbh.

8. A lot of classes, but it's a lot of the basal of daoc, so prolly useless... To mention some that needs a boost imo - big or small -Mentalist, Bard, Animist, Valewalker, Skald, Thane, Cabalist, sorc & necro. Furthermore there's a few imballances that isn't really made up for all around.

9. Make end regain an uninterrutable (insta cast) chant, so it at least the "unique" hib ability somewhat compares to that of the other realms.

10. Prolly not, and I hate Mythic for making it before the RvR expansion.

This implies solo encounter? 1v1 there are several classes that can have better than 50% chance at beating a savage. But I cant say I particularly fear any one of them.

Leading question? No, I dont think group RA's equivalent to hib/alb counterparts are a good answer. Parity on those would make it perhaps better than it is now but it would still favour "30m RA downtime" and each fight being decided solely on use of this or that RA.

Hard to say, it's never been balanced and Mythic seem to think it's acceptable to adjust realm balance by swinging the pendulum back and forth between the realms.

Too many to name. There isn't one mentalism specced mentalist in Prydwen and yet Mythic claim it to be a solid spec.

Possibly up the damage and mez duration. Make charm permanent like Sorceror, as it is with every battle relying on CC so much it's too risky for a mentalist to take a pet into rvr.

Being a Warden I would like more utility in the regrowth line, plus a % chance to snare added to the behind combat styles. I'm fed up begin towed around without anyway of stopping the guy smacking my group caster / healer.

Yes I do provided our 1 FG finds another 1FG. I hate emain and get really fed up when we go there. The zerg completely eliminates any chance of skill winning the fight and it comes down to purely who has more numbers. Give me FG vs FG anyday.

Until WoW comes out.

5.What one thing would you wish for your realm to have?

Bigger population to compete on ReliC Raids and to spread the fights over all three frontiers rather than mainly just one.

Cant comment on what its been like before as I don't have enough RvR experience. Currently I find Hibs rely on RA's to win fights.

I've mentioned Warden's in 1. Bards could do with another form of CC, Chanters need their heat debuffed toned down. Mentalists need help in their mentalist line.

9.If you could change one thing with your class what would it be?

Wardens have to spec 4 lines yet only get 1.5 spec points. We need this bumped up a bit to 1.8 or even 2. It'll never happen but thats what I would wish for.

Yes, unless WoW comes out first.

My initial class was a skald, which I sold due to their growing incompetence. So you could say no...

Haven't been active that long again, so haven't done that much RvR yet. Compared with the old days its fun-factor is a lot lower however, and it appears to keep decreasing.

3.How much longer do you intend to play the game?
Until one of the long-awaited new mmorpg's is finally released (WoW, Horizons, DE, etc)

As good as any opposing class is something a skald should fear nowadays I'm afraid.

Some decent ra's. Resist buffs in spec lines which are more common. And ice-cream.

Yes, and this will continue as long as Mythic keeps boosting/nerfing 1 realm per patch instead of making minor tweaks to all 3 realms in the same patch.

Way too many to list. A good start would be to give every class a detailed description of their role.

Give some kind of defense.

-I love playing a thane. Just a shame there are other classes much more powerfull

-Nope. RvR seems pretty pointless these days unless you are in a decent RvR guild. Random RvR groups tend to get their asses handed to them on a plate. Thanes are only wanted in random groups to fill up the places and are never wanted in RvR guilds.

3.How much longer do you intend to play the game?

-Until the end of September when I have to move house. I won't be able to keep my computer, though if I could I would probably carry on playing.

4.What classes do you fear the most?

-All of them generally. One on One fights as a thane are as rare as shit from a rocking horse, so can't really comment much as I usualy get ganked to death by a number of different classes.

5.What one thing would you wish for your realm to have?

-Balance. Or maybe we should just all roll savages instead of any other melee class?

6.Who is your toughest enemy to kill?

-Most classes. They either kick your ass or just turn and run away at a stupidly slow speed and there is nothing we can do because we run at an even stupider slow speed. Stealthers can stealth in between the 20 second timer of our instas. Nerf.

-I don't think it's any worse now, but no better either. The thing about DAOC is that the developers are constantly trying to balance the game, but with so many different classes and spells and abilities the game will never be balanced. They can spend 50 years patching and patching to change classes, but the end story is that there will always be an over-powered class that people choose to roll, and there will always be an under-powered class that the few people that play the class whine about.

-What use are thanes in a RvR group?
PvE groups, sure thanes are handy, but who cares about PvE? The end game is based on RvR. You PvE to get items to RvR with.
Give thanes something to make a group actually want them. (Runies getting higher weapon dps buff castable on realm mates? Why the hell didn't thanes get the ability to cast a high dps buff on realm mates?)

5 All str relics . But seriously i would like to have thrust weapons, some usefull RA or those 0.3 speccpoints per lvl that infils get (and no one knows why)

7.Hard to say...seems like Mythic can't fix something without screwing something else up.

9. well..if i compare myslef to an infil i could only say that i would love to get my hands on those .3 points per lvl.
10. I love to play a stealther...right now i still play on hope...hope that they (mythic) will see their errors and fix them....but if nothing has happened until ToA is released (29/10 in the US so i figure around february in Euro) i seriously doubt i will spend my hard erned mony on it.

2) only in good groups, rvr first few months after patch is crap

3) until WoW proves to better

4) insta mez/stun & pbaoe (something albs lack)

Answers:

1) I'm a sb what do you think From warrior perspective its ok, strong without being overpowered.

2) Everyone has there one opinions on rvr, I've been out of it for a long time, theres more to the game than rvr and being somewhere on a silly rp table.

3) Until i get utterly bored with it. Most likly World of Warcraft.

4) None.

5) Some decent RA's.. or all realms to have them removed.

6) Probably Hrodelbert, his pinkness blinds me and i can't see straight enough to hit him.

8) Most of midgard, its appauling that about 4 classes in the realm are considered for rvr groups. Albion, paladin needs end regen removed from him, minstrel need ablative chant removed... both these abilities should be given to other less powerful classes, cleric and necro for example. Before the paladins flame me i have had a lvl50 paladin for longer than you, biggest mistake mythic made was giving them end regen.

9) hehe I'm an sb Matt these forums don't have enough free space for me to answer the question. But in shrot the sb should be deleted and completely rebuilt from scratch to bring it on a par with the other assassin classes, LA for sb's was the silliest idea ever. The should never of been able to do the dmg they did with double frost, and now it has been nerfed the sb dmg output for the supposedly most melee capable of the 3 assassin classes they are poor to say the least. oh better stop this before i get started.
