Picture

one of many pics from my gap year. Didn't take a digital camera since film is easier when travelling for long periods.

My attempts. Attempts being the operative word.

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/option30/eyam3.jpg (I like the way the smoke moves in that, dunno why)
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/option30/eyam4.jpg

I've got a few more I took in Ireland, but I need to find those. I did a photography not long ago but these photos were all taken before that. I'm not very good, but I quite enjoy it.

Ok, I've not had time to edit any of my shots from my canon and they're a bit big to post unedited, at ~30Mb each, so I've sifted through my archive and found a few older ones I've liked, in order of the camera used

Clicky for full size, warning, some are over 2mb.

Cybershot U-20

Sharks vs Oilers at the HP Pavillion in San Jose, it was mostly scrapping on the ice, so I ran down from our box to get a better shot of the action

Golden Gate Bridge - Really didn't think this one would come out, but I put the timer and just sat it on the dashboard as I drove across. It's not spectacular but it's nice to see it from a slightly less typical angle.

DSC-P10

I had this camera on loan for a couple of weeks while I was working on a magazine review and ended up out one night tinkering with long exposures and headlights. I ended up with tons of these, but this is my fave as the car itself totally disappeared from the shot.

DSC-F707

The Atomium, Brussels - Went to a product launch early last year and ended up crammed in the topmost orb with 80 other journos, the damn thing was wobbling in the wind and it was a bit of a non-event, looked cool from the outside though.

More 707 shots...

Was faffing around with the Carl Zeiss lens on the 707 and got what I consider to be a pretty sharp shot of what is to be honest a pretty nasty moulded concrete mock-sculpture. Heh.

At the NV30 Launch, Comdex 2002, I was lucky enough to get front row seating and snapped Jen-Hsun Hwang, NVIDIA CEO in his introduction. We used this shot in print in the end, after a bit of retouching it came out quite well, down to being able to make out the stitching in his shirt.

Tenerife in March, spinky fountain.

Played photographer at Gypsycurses wedding too...

One more shot from Tenerife, messing with colour balance and tricking the camera to make the sea look almost lagoon-like

One of my better ones, although I could have done with a bit more latitude on the exposure...

It's like a modern day picture of that cliché scene. You know where there're boats in the lake, mountains in the background, DON'T FORGET THE SUN SETTING!

I like them animal pictures. For some reason, I like them wildlife shots. Like the ones that might come in the National Geographic or something. Cool.

Those three were handheld yeah, leaning on a ledge. Bumped the iso up to 400. Did some of the firedancers with a tripod, but they were from a different angle and need cropping or its jsut a big mass of mess. I love the way the fire appears a solid compared to the dancers themseves who are mainly a blur. Got about 30 images of firedancers, those are my three favourite I think.
