i agree about the shield spec part, and i would like to see boosted melee damage so wardens can at least do something except being bg bots

actually im quite happy with my dmg (12 blades atmo and spamming only ml styles essence flames/essence debuff/powerleak when needed)
doing 120-150 dmg per hit with traitors
still would love some dmg boost!!!

anyway why oh why they took mastery of blocking from us...

read his spec, there is no slam :touch: but if they did have a shield spec it would persuade me to roll one .. given they get higher points to spend ... and gov + all other arti's get a 2s respawn time so that i could actually MAKE a template ... and infinate chance to make MP scale for 1g XD

I would like to see 2 x level on vamp + stealth spec ... climb wall with no stealth ... veeeeeeeeeery clever

Wardens have been discussing the option for a shield spec (or semi-spec in the shield line) for several years (long before ToA). It has been discussed with the Mythic TL's time and time again, everytime the general feeling is that with shield spec the warden would be too difficult to kill. A self-healing, self-buffing tank cc specialist with shield spec, parry spec, scale wearing, battlemaster option, bladeturn and the best haste buff in the business? Polish up the nerf bat if it ever happens :)

similar to the heretic :p

heretic buff spec:
af
str
con
dex
self, s/c
anyone damage add
self, af (stackable)
self, pierce magic (for focus)
self, damage add (stackable)
absorb (up to 30%)
buff shear proc (LOL)
grp damage add

they have shield spec, no parry, 2 x level points ... so you know ... a well specced heretic would be similar to paladin o_O

so behmoths idea of removing parry for shield wouldn't be bad ... as long as warden got extra spec points

oh ... and heretic can be banelord :eek6:

No a heretic uses a small shield and no plate. they go down lightning fast to any real tank. Heretic is a very weak class, I wouldnt want to run with one.

ok here comes shild spec warden: (if we get those extra spec points)
49 nurt
42 shild
33 regro
rest wreapon
(asuming we lose parry)

btw with campion levels perchaps its possible to get some shild spec i still didnt understand the full concept of those lvls...

i expected more from you mikos ... no plate .. true ... BUT ... 360 af buff stackable with baseline af buff + 30% abs buff. You would in fact take similar damage to a paladin who has 2 x lower af buff and 35% abs (unless you have a sight necro adding 9%). The main difference of course being paladin = con primary stat and heretic = piety (?) primary stat

The size of the shield makes little difference if all you are doing is being a slammer.

But i agree ... would never run with one. RvR utility is so low it hurts. Seige utility is yummy though.

I agree it does all sound good in theory, but unfortunetly in practice it doesnt quite work out that way. The survivability is low as they have low hit points, 30% ABS, and a small shield that can only block one opponent. If you spec enhance for all those things and slam it leaves you with a maximum weapon skill of weapon spec 39. i.e. not very much damage output as you also dont have any of the damage spells.

By all means try and justify one for a group but it will not be because of their survivability, it just really isnt that good. They survive better than a caster but not by huge amounts.

You cannot compare that to the survivability of a paladin with 2200 hitpoints, over 1000AF , 42% ABS and a large shield.

And so they should be. They aren't tanks, they are a hybrid healer class.

I'm all in favour of a semi-shield spec for Wardens (maybe a spec line thats a combo of parry/shield or the capped spec level of 50% suggested on the Wall) but not giving them the full shield line. Just a bit too much imo. ;)

I agree, giving full shield spec would be a bit too much. You can always dream tho ;) - As i mentioned earlier, i have no idea why they removed Moblocking for wardens.. retards@mythic imo.

If they would ever put in shield spec for wardens, i dont think we would "need" extra points imo. Wardens spec so high nurture/regrowth cuz there are no other good alternative. The alternative would be weapon spec, but most wardens agree that putting points in weapon spec is a bit pointless. Especially when you consider the use of battlemaster styles.

Thread made my wonder, how often is albions actually wearing necro abs buff? stealthers does this alot? or? Seems some scouts can be really hard to kill melee, so that could be mp 19% abs armor+spec af,+9abs ?
