Hey guys. Recently installed a new wireless router, the "3Com® OfficeConnect® ADSL Wireless 54 Mbps 11g Firewall Router" however I am unable to connect to MSN with it. I've been trying to setup ports on the firewall to let it out, googled endlessly to try and see if anyone else has experienced any problems, but I have had no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas?

At the moment im doing:

trigger port: 1863
TCP
Public Port: 1863
TCP
enabled

and

trigger port: 1863
TCP
Public Port: 6890 - 6900
TCP
enabled

but neither seems to work. Help? :(

munkey,

are you using MSN Messenger itself or something else (like Trillian) ?

you could also try setting the port to 446

Im using MSN Messenger. I considered trying Trillian but I assumed it'd just use the same ports for my MSN contacts. Would I be right in thinking that?

try again now munkey - was having problems earlier - now seem to be able to logon

Trillian is good if you have multiple messengers (I use yaoom, MSN (2 accounts) and ICQ- also signon to IRC. One package to doall
