Lots of speculation for past few weeks and Mourinho has left. One day after Kenyan said his job is safe and he was the key to Chelsea's future success.

Discuss.

seriously?

haha wish id put money on united to win the prem now :>

omg your not joking, this is one of them memorable moments, im fairly overjoyed to tell the truth, not just because im a united fan but his persona was just, a bit shit (cocky arrogant egotistic etc)

well, theres always lots of goings on behind the scenes of a club, but for this to happen so radically, have there been major internal struggles that the press hasnt had its dirty hands on recently that we'v missed?

the premierships such a tight affair these days that even if chelsea bring in someone like lippi or ancelloti it could be too late if they go on a losing/drawing streak over the next month or two

ha again, delightful!

Devastated :(

I hope they know what they're doing, sacking a manager after 6 premiership games after 3 years of sucess is ridicolous. Though he won't be managing in England again if you ask me.

Deschamps is another name in the frame though from what the BBC page says.

yea deschamps is skysports top story atm

he does look a decent manager, and after all it is chelsea, kenyon seems to be able to do whatever he desires in footballing terms and hes still pretty much directing chelski- but losing mourihno will be a blow whoever takes over:clap::clap::clap:

will be interesting to see what unfolds

Was expecting a joke in here, but moment i saw the thread title i checked bbc and was shocked he had gone.
I hate the guy, really pisses me off with his million and one excuses however he did seem to have something there which most managers dont.

Be interesting to see how Chelsea will cope. They got the players there so this should not affect them too much, just depends on the impact the new manager wants. Makes Sunday twice as interesting now.

doesnt it just:D

though united have only conceded two goals up to now, and chelsea always have been predominantly defensive

could turn out to be a bit of a shocker

Hardly a shock really..

Crap football being played, fallout with the Russian Mafia was never sorted..

Bad news for Utd though, thats Chelsea's teamtalk done now for sunday..players will play out of their skin to beat us.

Never liked the guy, like Golly said, he always had an excuse and he was arrogant.

I'm sure Chelsea can find a manager which ain't so full of himself and can still perform miracles.

Yes true, but will they stay and work for a nutcase like Abramovitch?

I Think they try poach Sven now?

I think the Chelsea players have learnt enough from him to keep playing "well" although they havent been that special so far this season.

I love all the twats here that are just like waheyyyy! Every club has its ups and downs, and the Russian could have brought any club he liked really, he just chose Chelsea.

Its not like they won't get any other manager, since the Russian will pay them shitloads.

Arrogant he may have been but he still delivered the clubs most sucessful period, won the support of everyone at the club except the big cheese.

According to SSN the reasons given for his departure were his activity in the transfer market in the summer. So in other words Roman didn't want to see Robben go. Lets be honest the other players who left didn't quite have the flair he did.

Looks like Avram Grant is set to take over, hopefully not for good. The guy is hardly proven on the big stage.

While I hated his constant press footage, he is an absolute talent. The Premiership will be a worse place for him not being around, his record speaks for itself, even under the pressure of having an owner who liked to buy players because he could.

This could be it for Chelsea, I cannot see Lampard staying and I would not back against him playing under Mourinho at Barcelona, they have had a bad start to the season.

Drogba will be away as well, along with a few others who moved there to play under Jose and win things. Chelsea seem to think they can buy the champions league, that is not the case, 20k fans at a champions league match is a disgrace, any other team apart from Middlesborough would have probably been a sell out.

At Bahumat, I would rather him have been there tbh, the players are all going to be pumped now.

Yeah cos United have been so impressive considering the 60 odd million they spent in the summer :p

Is it just me hoping for a draw at the weekend with Rooney Ronaldo Terry and Chech having a fight and getting 10 match suspensions??

I hated Moaneo when we played him but found him brilliantly funny the rest the the time that egg speach should go down in history.

Vlad, only £35 million or so has been paid up front ;)

As for Jose, found out 30 secs ago so I am still totally in shock. Will post more later.

Oh and :twak: for not posting with [Football] tag! :p

You dont see us panicking though :p

We are still playing very good football but we are seriously lacking an out and out striker. Fans will take getting beat or a draw if you actually looked like you were going for the throat. For to long now Chelsea have been playing in 2nd gear till they sneak a goal or concede one. Then you see the change in pace from them.

They may play more fluent football but the outcome of the season and the appointment of the next permanent manager is so important.

So many players forged a personal bond with Mourinho and this may be one reason Lampard stalled on his contract for so long.

Unfortunately i don't see this as being the end of the problems. Abramovich well and truly pressed the self destruct button.

Everyone's got an opinion (not saying they shouldn't), however I just think Chelsea may have a shit year, all clubs get it. Arsenal were 4th? last season. Man Utd had a bit of a crap year a few seasons back.

I thikn it's dumb that he gets all this hassle after all he's done.

Was on my rugby league forum last night and someone mentioned the odds of Mourinho being the next manager to leave his post, was plummeting. When I got on to betfair, he was down from 100/1 to 20/1 so you just knew it was comming. £20 on, £400 back. Cheers jose

If I was a chelsea fan, id hope the team doesnt fall apart now. Chelsea HAVE to bring in a big name with Pedigree.

Anyone other than Capello and it will be a failure imo.

And they bring in Avram as confirmed on the website, fanfuckingtastic

Hopefully its just a temporary solution though.

Marc i didn't see much of Madrid last season, what sort of football were they playing under Capello?
