Its so damn fucking awesome i tell you all. It has Keeps, like in Dark age of Camelot. You can buy armor and weapons and such, like in Dark age of Camelot. You can buy horses, like in Dark age of Camelot. You can gather a zerg, like in Dark age of Camelot. You can zerg, like in Dark age of Camelot. You can raid keeps, and take them, like in Dark age of Camelot. You can specialize you, and your troops, like in... yeah. Multiplayer is immensly entertaining. Its like Counter-Strike, but with a medieval theme, and you buy gear with the money you earn. I urge everyone into medieval theme games to try this out!

When's the last time you had any interaction with other players in a random dungeon in WoW? Even the basics of human communication like hello (or its variants) don't exist any more. You might as well be playing an offline game :p

Last time i played actually which was a couple of months ago(should really head back next year).

Random dungeons, cities, random peeps in the wilds, guild ofcourse will NEVEr shut the f*ck up :p

There's penty of interaction, people helping eachother etc. Just need to act as such too.

When was the last time YOU said hello ;)

Acutally, I say hi every time I join a dungeon. Occasionally I'll throw in some random conversation to see if I jump-start some interaction but most groups just want to high-tail it through as fast as possible. Last few months its got steadily worse.

Guild groups are, of course, a blast.

Yeah, random groups can be that, but i'd jolt it down to bad luck or other such element.

Most the time it's pleasant.

Higher the level gets, the better.

If you got a tank&healer in your friend circle, it all becomes a REAL blast because you call the shots.

Which is kinda what i do with my healer anyway; If you run off, i won't heal you :p

Yeah the dungeon finder is pretty funny. Find group, do your thing, leave. Single player dungeons.

The AI can be pretty good!

Actually. The thing that got me hooked was the multiplayer function in Warband. Really really really addicting.

WAR is much the same, I jump in a warband, amuse everyone with my sexual innuendo for a while but no one else contributes unless Docwolfe or Pinvan are with me. Sad really, people seem so uptight and loot/rp focused nowdays instead of enjoying the social aspect of the game.

but if you prefer soloing, or PVE, or are utterly shite at RVR (so shite, no one will group with you anyway), so what if you're not enjoying the "social aspect" of the game. There are so many asshole kids playing MMO's these days, sometimes you just wanna do your own thing & go /anon. If you want social, log off & go to a bar.

Neither are mutually exclusive, I do both every week but I do play games to socialise and have done for 15-16 years I guess. To me MMO's are completely social, if you want to solo then there are far better ways to do it in games that have a much better single player focus.

MMO market is pretty dead in terms of 'social' games tbh. All about being the best as quick and easy as possible these days.

completely agree

i used to play daoc with no vent or anything just chatting in guild and /as and then on irc in the steather channel

was such a laugh

then joined a guild and we did everything on vent, and met up irl alot and made a CCS clan aswell

without playing with mates i find it hard to play anygame these days

even fifa ect i play the club online games more than anything for the banter ect, same with black ops, if none of the clan are on i wont play

Same here, just need the banter. Esp in MMo's. With Warband, it would be awesome to have a few ppl on vent, teaming up and doing tactics, it is such a game.

So. Anyone trying this game out and feel like playing multiplayer, we should set up a team and zerg a little. I mean, playing alone in a server where there are 40 - 50 ppl is FUN, but it would be so much better with a few mates having a laugh while fooling around.

I used to play Mount and Blade 1 a looooot and also played quite a bit of M&B: Warband. I agree Fettoken it's an awesome game! The mother of all medeival sandbox games i'd say, and those who say it's single player are wrong. M&B: Warband IS multiplayer.. that's the main difference between it and its predecessor. It's easily worth it - no subscription fees and low initial cost. Plus it has a TON of mods to make it look godawful pretty as well, or simply campaign mods if you like to switch to single player mode for a while. :) I can warmly recommend to anyone who haven't tried it.

Fettoken i'd gladly join you there, except I have no time to play these days. Otherwise i'd easily be all over it! :) It's still sitting on my desktop in the hopes that i'll have the time again some day.

it one the reasons i cant get into MMO's at the moment... most arent interested in the social aspect. Got ruined by daoc tbh as was some the best social MMO times.
Tried a ton of others and just cant stick with them due to way people (or kids really) are now days in them. Just want that ubeh loot and nothing else matters!

Dont help most are made way too easy when it comes to pve, but then daoc went that way when they nerfed TOA to hell! Sure i was one the few that enjoyed the original TOA. :D
Very few games leave you needing to build up relationships to achieve things, which doesnt help social side

This was one of the real strengths to DAOC. The defending the realm and relic raids aspect made you have to socialise with a larger array of people and learn who to contact when you needed help. Compare this to WOW where you tend to socialise with your guild only as there's no need to meet or work with anyone else.

Vent has been a blessing and also a curse for gamers. Its great for organisation and getting your own little groups / guilds working together sadly the flip side of this is there's no interaction with anyone outside of your own little circle. People are less inclined to just randomly group in games and when they do theres no talking, no banter and not alot of socialising, which for me was the best part of MMO's.

So, how does one put together a guild? It is not one of my specialties.
