hi tdc, long time no see...did ya miss me? :p

ok bak on topic.

Its pretty clear some of u guys live in a different mind set than most Uk muslims. The fact is from a muslim perspective nationality dont really matter, all muslims are the same irrespective of race. Therefor a when a muslim country is attack its an attack on every muslims country. Ya can see why Bin laden is able to use this to influence weak minded muslims.

Unfortunately the Tailban regime is so evil they aint ever getting my support. Of course i dont speak for all muslims. Does that mean other muslims shud go fight for Tailban? Hell its their lives, dont think they shud be incouraged, infact they shud be persuaded not to fight by the Uk islamic community. If they do so then i feel its their choice, if they get killed by their own government's bombs then they knew the risks.

Shud they be allowed back in? I think they should. They aint fighting against the ppl of this country, they are fighting against our army. Their participation in this war is the strongest form of protest against the governments role in the war. Of course this aint an ideal way to protest, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

neway off to get some

I personaly have no problem with anyone living in this country providing they play by the same rules we all do.

Living here is fair enough, but going over to fight with there relativies, religious groups or whatever AGAINST us and then providing they live through it, wanting to move back here is just plain fucking not on.

Bullshit.

The first time they raise a weapon against the state they are committing treason, and we should just pretend they didn't do it? What if writers start annoying fundamentalists and they kill him? Should we ignore that? Its not an attack on Britain, he's just killing a writer as a form of protest.

The only things that these guys are going to achieve in fighting in Afghanistan is to polarise the British people against Muslims.

i just think that it is a crying shame that in a "civilised world" the human race has once again started another dangerous war... i mean is there any hard proof on who actually commited the sept 11th incident. i just hope that we ALL see our pettyness before our need for war destroys this planet and its people. but i have a really bad feeling about this one :(

I think the case against Bin Laden is pretty solid. The evidence was enough to convince Pakistan's president and other world leaders.

What the events of September the 11th showed the US intelligence agencies is that they need more people inside these organisations. Electronic surveillence is of knack-all use against these people. Therefore, they aren't going to compromise any contacts they do have at this moment in time when the threat of a follow-up strike is so high. Thousands of lives could be at stake because of it.

Since Bin Laden pretty much admits being responsible anyway, added to the fact he's already been proved to be responsible for previous atrocities I don't blame the US for being a bit cagey with the proof they have.

they're only fighting against our army??? ffs they are representing us thats the point! what about, they're only fighting people from nottingham? or they're only fighting people from the trent bridge area of nottingham? or they're only fighting people from next door to my house?
the point is,this is a country surely, with a democraticly elected government and services in place to serve the population.
i wouldnt let 'em back in for any money.mind they can always say they're refugees ,then they can stay in a 4 star hotel ay?

Never forget who started this war. Bin Laden and the Taliban started it by killing thousands of civillians. That's inexcusable. They aren't people who can be negotiated with, they aren't going to stop and they aren't nice at all. Fuck them, I hope they all get killed.

As for the rest of the Afghan population I hope they get some help when the war is over although Bin Laden is fuckin loaded and I don't see him helping. Twat.

There, I've said my piece now :)

Errrrr, no, America started it by forcibly occupying a country (Palestine) in exactly the same manner that Saddam Hussien took Kuwait, and handing it over to the jews. Not one of you cunts has shed a single tear for the 900+ palestinians shot & murdered JUST THIS YEAR by israeli soldiers and tanks

No sympathy with america in any way, shape or form

It seems a shame to me, that Bush is hardly likely to survive to defend himself, in the War Crimes Tribunal being brought against him following the atrocities of the last month of bombing. (War Crimes Tribunals are only held AFTER the War ends. This War, without boundaries will outlast the lot of us!)

I used to think this was a holy war, I know the Taliban and innocent Afghan citizens see it that way (some UK Muslims do too). But its obviously not, as Bush (although proclaiming himself a Christian) is hardly acting in a Christian manner, Carpet Bombing whole villages just because they are currently controlled by a group who ARE willing to discuss handing over that ‘Bin Laden’ fellow, but he isn’t willing to speak with them. Its hardly a Christian way of doing things. (what did Blair say, following the recent IRA disarmament breakthrough. Quote: ‘… the only aims that ever should, or indeed really ever can, succeed are those pursued by democratic and peaceful debate.’ )

http://www.guardian.co.uk/Archive/Article/0,4273,4284179,00.html

Think back to the Pinochet extradition with Spain, ‘Britain’ kept him months, and wouldn’t hand him over till evidence of his guilt was given. If Spain had said, we want him ‘Dead or Alive’, £3,000,000 reward on his head, hand him over now or we bomb the UK, no negotiation. Would the UK have handed him over without question? Without seeing evidence? Like hell!

As for British based supporters of the 700+ years running ‘JIHAD’, at least they are wishing to fight on the front lines, to DEFEND fellow Muslims. If the threat of being tried for ‘Treason’ hangs over every British Muslim who wishes to go over and help what THEY see as a Muslim country engaged in THE ‘Holy War’, if that stops them leaving the country what do they then do? Sit back and watch their fellow Muslims being annihilated? (you have to try and put yourself in their shoes). These folks aren’t terrorists, just people who wish to support their faith, willing to risk their lives (honourably) on the front lines of a battlefield, knowing full well, that in all likely-hood, once there, they’ll probably not even see an enemy to fight, but just be blattered by bombs dropping in. (You should be more concerned with extremists Muslims in the UK (if there are any)supporting THE 'JIHAD' who DONT want to go to ‘the battlezone’, rather than those who do want to!)

Britains involvement in helping the USA, is just that. Helping the USA (at times like these they need all the help they can get). Whatever their reasons for bombing Afghanistan, the Oil Pipeline plan, America wanting to remove the mess of a regime it helped into power, or whatever other reasons (terrorism is just the easiest acceptable excuse/reason), as far as stopping terrorism is concerned, any bombing campaign WILL have the opposite effect!

Whether its wrong or right for the UK to bomb Afghanistan, or whichever countries this is going to spread to, isn’t the issue. The USA would continue without our backing, and UK-USA ties are strong enough to make the UK a target of hatred towards America whether we help the campaign or not! To most of the eastern world Britain is just USA’s 51 state !

An intersesting and frighteningly enlightened response from a member of these forums. I stand aghast

Back in the Iraqi war, I seem to remember Mr H. shouting 'Jihad' and spamming missiles over Israel!, similar type of thing going on now. Most Islamic nations can no doubt see through it.

As I've already said, the major underlying factor for both Hussiens actions, and Bin Ladens, is the current ongoing attrocities being comitted in Palestine (sorry, I don't acknowledge 'Israel' as a legitimate country)

And for the record, it is treason (punishable by death). That's cast-iron fact. None of your petty speculation. Handy having a barrister for a brother ;)

Oh, and also: I'm originally from Palestine. My family has put more back into this country than we have ever taken out. So much so that my father has almost ditched all his NHS work and now operates in the private health sector. The same with my mother, and the private mental health sector. If an official war started tommorrow between Palestine(and other arab nations) and Israel, I'd be there in the blink of an eye, whether England was defending the jews or not

the thing is "overreaction" is like the israli's watchword.when the ira bombed london,we said "we will not give in to terrorism"when the palistinians do it they send in a load of tanks....
whilst the problem there is very serious and not to be underestimated, the same problem would occur if you took the country off the israli's and gave it to the palistinians.Begin and his m8's were terrorists themselves in the late 40's and early 50's.i confess i cant help but feel some sympathy with them ,after the nazi's wiped out 6 million of 'em.also i have been to jerusalem and bethlehem.whilst the jews are fairly obviously not the same as us,they arn't completely unlikable, unlike the south africans for example.. /me ducks
what i'm trying to say is yes the palistinians have had a tough time, but so have the jews.lets hope there's room for both of them.
btw saddam may have claimed his invasion of quewait (spelling!)was ref the palistine thing, but i think money and oil was more to blame :)
soz didnt see ur last post u know a bit about it too i imagine m8 :)

i cant believe some of the shit ive read here. No one here has any fucking pride for this country at all, saying things like

"Shud they be allowed back in? I think they should. They aint fighting against the ppl of this country, they are fighting against our army. Their participation in this war is the strongest form of protest against the governments role in the war. Of course this aint an ideal way to protest, but desperate times call for desperate measures."

goes to show this.

Its sick, ANY person who even takes the first step to go fight for another country aganst the one they are leaving (as in muslims from the UK going to fight for afgan) should be shot on the spot, no questions asked, nor answered.

saying that they should be allowed back in after possibly killing american or UK troops (troops are humans btw, as in they could be your brother, father, or yourself) is sickening. beyond words really. As if ya gonna carry on seeing or talking to ya m8 whos a muslim, just come back from killing 10 UK soldiers with a frag gren, when one of those could of been another m8 or even a relative...

and perplex, if youe were serious about what you just said you have just committed treason aganst this country by saying that you would fight aganst it. maybe not 100% treason.

a) that makes it ok to persecute the palestinians? think again

b) then why did saddam waste so many scud missiles aimed at israel? boredom? target practice? I actually respect Saddam for one thing and one thing only - having the balls to stand up to america and say "so what, attack me - you don't scare me". Unlike almost every other country on the planet that fears and trembles under the USA-bully-machine.

I don't buy the notion that Bin Laden did this because of Isreal. Simililarly with Saddam. He brings Isreal into the argument precisely to get Arabs onside. This is the rhetoric. The reality is more complex.

I'm not going to get into the rights and wrongs of the foundation of Isreal. That's not an entirely seperate issue I know but to think that it would somehow justify the killing of thousands of US workers and firemen most of whom weren't alive in 1948 is patently ridiculous.

I never said I agree with HOW Bin Laden is acting, but I do sympathise with the sentiment. Sounds fucked up, I know

I agree that soemthing needs to be done about palestine, but I think Bin Laden is going about it int he ENTIRELY wrong way, as this is making him no better than Ariel Sharon

perp how can u say that about saddam? the reason he fired scuds at israel was to try to draw other arab states into the war on his side.honestly,do you think it was to make the palistinians feel better?in your own words m8 ,think again.
ok ill spell it out.if he fired at israel and israel retaliated that would draw other arab states who were neutral into the war (ie on his side) because of thier dislike of israel.its got to be said isreal did not retaliate for that very reason.
saddam is little more than the idi amin of the 1990's.

Well Perplex if you say that you would take up arms against English ( British ) troops for any reason whilst you remain to live here then you are living in the wrong Country .
If Palestine means so much to you GO BACK and take your relatives with you .

Im sick of hearing imigrants complain about the UK and the so called decadent west whilst flocking to get here in their droves .
You dont like then get out and let someone in who will give 100% commitment in all areas live here .

The only thing that is still punishable by death I believe, its also seen as an act against Queen....or something like that ;)

You're quiet right although I do get saddened by the amount of killing on both sides. As you know Perplex ;) my view regarding this is that both countries act like child arguing over who started it instead of dealing with the situation and realising both countries have to exist.

Maybe one day both people's countries can live together although I doubt this will happen any time soon and maybe another day the people of the world can live together and realise that we are just visitors on this beautiful planet......shame it'll most probably never happen :(
