on our local forum the moderators felt somewhat the same about moderating some posts, clearly there would be a backwash from the user in question but if you detail to them in an IM that you deleted it for specific reasons and not to take the message as a warning but as advice you dont get burned so much.Will said:I'll probably try to stick to this. I have to say that having the power to alter a thread so much does sometimes make me feel uncomfortable. I'm never sure how people will react to having posts edited or deleted, and so I tend to be overly cautious.

if you look at what deebs done on the babe thread (i cant view it because im at work) but when he edited it he added text in italics at the bottom for a simplistic reason of why he done it, then i presume he IM'ed or e-mailed the person to explain fully the reason why it was removed.
normally if theres replys after it, a quick *snip* to the post and things flow fine again.
i'd point you to our local forum, but we havnt had to moderate it in quite some time now.
