Is Midgard dying? You cannot find XP groups anymore, you cannot find RvR groups anymore (except the few guild groups).

XP groups isn't what it used to be, no matter what realm you're in.
Lots of people have bots or you have SMs, necros, chanter....
I suppose RvR is the same for any realm. As Mavl said, it also depends on class.

For PvE, as loads of us have BB, SM etc, pwl is very populare, but leading to less grp PvE. IMO that is ok, cuz after you dinged your 1st or 2nd char 50, you don't wanna spend XX days dinging the next one.

Wondered how long it was going to take people to realise that buffbots are killing the game.
Ban buffbots, and give Mid some much-needed love (Thanes, SBs in particular)...morale in Mid is very low, but then what do you expect when Mythic do nothing but nerf us endlessly (while at the same time never nerfing the overpowered things in Albion)? Savages get nerfed hard but BOF doesn't? Crazy.

Thats all well and good for those ppl with buffbots but anyone who hasnt got one is screwed. All you ever see these days are either
- solo people trailing buffbots
- people playing solo classes (ie bonedancers, you acn solo to 50 without grouping)
- guild groups (and even if not a fg they dont take non guildies in)
New people to the game/casual gamers are having a hard time of it atm with the way PvE has gone.

Sadly, Buffbots will never be banned because then GoA wouldn't get as much income due to so many players having two accounts (main char and buffbot). And money is all they care about.

hmm cant speak on pve as i dont roleplay
but for rvr active mid numbers are certainly down how low i dont know, but over the past month or 2 i would say hibs have had more active players in rvr than midgard most of the time so it could be a sizeable drop and with mmg emain being camped most nights by huge alb / hib zergs it really puts some mids off rvr.
hopefully GOA will repair the xml etc soon so we get some stats from duskwave

Has it ever crossed your mind the LA nerf was necessary? Wouldn't you whine when bm's suddenly started hitting you for 500-1000 dmg? Or when a savage does the same, but with self-end and alot better defence and at cap swing speed? I fink so.
Ofc thanes and sb's need love, but so some hib and alb classes.
You rly can't say savages are as overpowered as bof, thats just fucking ridiculess.

Savges don't have "self-end", it's an urban myth. They have the ability to swap (a lot of) HPs for some End regained, which is an entirely different thing. Paladins have real self-end.
You're absolutely right, what was I thinking?
It's more overpowered than Savages.

Has it occured to you, that mids might be taking somewhat of a break from RvR, especially seeing as how active they were when they held relics, viciously defending them.
... got no idea what current RvR situation is like tho on average, seemed a bit zergy the times I've been out lately, from mid side - tho has usually been very late ;p

Its not just excal thats seeing this happen to midgard.
pretty much every server in the US and a vast majority of servers in the EU are seeing less and less players from Midgard play actively in RvR. The only people that do still compete in the zergfest are guild groups.
Yes morale is low, and i cant blame it when the best class's mid has gets nurfed. The only class's that havent been nurfed are the totally gimped class's like Thanes and Skalds and they will prolly get a couple rounds of the nurf bat knowing mythic as well.
The story continue`s through out DaoC. Albion continue to dominate with there numbers, hibernia is struggeling to catch up and midgard is die`n on a huge number of servers where mythic has even been kind enough to give over 50% of the servers /level 30.

I think it rather has to do with the people then the classes. I've seen gimps rise up to kings and there's nothing standing in your way to rise up yourself. All it takes is some guts and selfdedication. You gotta set yah goals clear and go for it

From what Ive seen of late, Mid has got the wrong end of the nerf bat all too often, and some of our classes never see the light of day after dinging 50 because their promised lurve never comes.
Recently I have seen so many old schoolers leave for SWG or other games, moving realms (lots of mids rolled /30 in hib Pryd that i have seen) or simply abandoning the game due to boredom. I dont think this is purely Mid, but I think the majority of those abandoning the sinking ship have been.
Reading back over these forums and the VN and other boards, to me (yes its my opinion), Midgard has seen the least positive changes, the worst nerfs, and has become dull in its own right.
All the cries for nerfing seem to stem from us Mids, complaining about over powered classes in the other realms, easy bug abuse by the others, or simply asking for luv for ourselves. We seem to have the least FotM's of the 3 realms, we dont have the uber pulling spots the others have (besides lair, and that sux big time). I count now 24 patches since it went live in Euro (from 1.39), and most of those have brought nothing but nerfs to our major classes. And Savages are next.
People (like me) get fed up rolling a toon, however they do it, only to have it beaten to a pulp a couple of weeks later. Ask any zerk or SB and they will agree. Thanes have so far had 6 upgrades to their specs, yet still more is needed to make them a truely viable character in RVR, hence the upcoming ones in 1.67, yet the TLs say more is STILL needed.
As for our depleting RvRers, well I think youll find most of them in Malm PLing or trying to make enough cash to buy the TG uber gear that others want an arm and a leg for. We seem to be good at ripping each other off. Just do /who Tusc or /who malm to see how many ppl are there farming.

With BOF active a savage needs at least 5 seconds to kill me Oo
But back on topic: It's the same in every realm m4rk. A bit less in Albion I presume because it has a bit more players. I do believe the solidarity has gone down a bit tho. As people used to group almost anything and now they are more demanding to get to 50 more efficiently etc.
I must admit I aswell level my alts for 80% in guildgroups or solo, as its very hard to accept "noobish" behaviour, when you yourself have so much experience, especially when they fail to learn from what happened And also I can't stand people with a first char on 48 with 10 days /played whining in the XP group constantly that we are not taking high enough mobs or that it's going slow etc. Slow?? Try days of witherwoodes!!
About non full guild groups not taking people in. People in a guild tend to know eachother pretty well, often our guild xp groups spend a lot of time chattering. On top of that we do extremely silly things. Now you can imagine what happens when we invite a non guildie in the group who's having wet dreams about this well oiled war machine of a guild group getting him phat XP and all we do is talk and getting him killed?
Happened in Catacombs a few weeks ago. Invited an Ice wizzie after we warned him and after he said oh I don't mind I would just want a group (I'm all alone and scared you get the idea). As soon as he was in he started with now protect and guard the Ice wiz!! Pull mobs to me! (YES WE KNOW WE ALL HAVE 3 50's 11!1 (/played fyi not pl'd)) Needless to say the fun for us was gone and we went doing something else within 5 minutes

I've got access to an account that I could use as a buff acct actually but I don't bother as:
a) its as boring as hell
b) kinda ruins the whole concept of a massively multiplayer game when everyone is effectively playing the game solo.
Nothing good has come to this game since the buffbot craze came in and Im playing less and less because of it tbh. Kinda kicking my heels till ToA arrives so there's at least somewhere new to explore but thats about it for me as far as DAOC goes at the mo.

When a savage runs up to you, and starts bashing that one button with an assist train on him. The poor bastards on the receiving end yell NERF!
When you get AE Mezzed out of nowhere and the 2 chanters pbaoe the shyte out of your group, once again we yell NERF!
When we charge up to 2 FG, wtfpwn the lot of em, we yell RAWR! WE RAWK!.
Surely the people who make the decisions on the Nerf'ings aren't overly influenced by the whines of people in other realms? I would like to think that the 'Fix's' made to classes are to balance them and make them more fitting with the rest of the realm.
Yes, Mids are meant to hit harder than albs...that's just the way it should be. Dirty great vikings with no manners & bad hair do's have nothing beter to do with their time than flex their Biceps and enter into ridiculous "I'm 'arder that yuo mistah troll!" competitions with their neighbours. Its the equivalent of those tossers you see in the Gym flexing their muscles and looking like Johnny Bravo.
Hib have the Elves. As you would expect, they are like magical and stuff so would make uber mage's. Fair enough, they sit about all day blowing up next doors pets and turning seed's into forests for the little kiddies to play in.
Albs have...errrr....well. Look at the stereotypical medievil Brit. In most films and stories they are either really "Weak Wristed" looking Knights who have never got their leg over (maybe perhaps once or twice with the stableboy), or fat drunk men who have shares in a tavern. It's a miracle the Alb zerg ever reaches AMG with that much Ale in 'em.
Ok i admit it. I have completely forgot what the hell the point was i was going to make.
Oh well, back to yet more cold Turkey for lunch.

Sometimes it seems that the realm populations move with the relics.
It's simple really if you can't stand to play something that doesn't have absolutely every advantage for it's self then at this point the Alb stealthers and especialy the Infiltrator is the answer for you. I bet when and if Mid's ever get their Relics back they will see old friends reapear.
On the other hand i have personaly experienced enough situations to convince me that the Mid's that stick to their characters and realm even when they get nerfed, lose relics or don't get the love they need, they are very good players.
And remember easy mode at anything may be fun in short term's but it will become boring very fast.
