Microsoft are coming in tomorrow to demonstrate Kinect. There are 2 lots of 2 hour sessions, morning and afternoon. I had to setup the Bistro area with tv's etc ready for them and have my HD camera ready to take video (we are asking MS if this is ok).

So, do any of you want me to ask specific and valid questions about Kinect?

ps. Not sure I will have a go, might do, depends on how much food I eat in the morning....

I feel an RTS designed properly could be the start of something special for Kinect.

Golf? Boxing? Minority Report style gaming?

TBH i think what the difference is between Kinect and the Wii/Move is that you don't hold anything in your hands no Wii Mote and no Move control stick/microphone or whatever the hell it is.

Just that alone could make developers produce some amazing games or it could end up like the Wii have have a new fitness game that comes out every fucking month which the fat lazy 20-30 something mums just have to have!

I noticed that in the Covent Garden demo, everything was accessible for disabled people (ramps everywhere etc.).

Do they have anything in the pipeline for this group of people? I notice alot of the games require excessive movements and jumping. So very curious.

How do they prevent someone who's just walking by from taking any action in your game? can it recognise who the player is, and keep it's focus on them? how does it stop you from losing the game when you answer the phone, or need a drink?

You'd want a mix of voice + motion. Voice control was demonstrated reasonably competently in Tom Clancy's Endwar.
