Ben from Kent has got a rating of +97 even though he opens with 'it's BNP all the way for me.'

Daily Mail is read by the uneducated masses though.

you sure he's not from Dover. I've seen his films.
And they're not *that* good. Seymour Butts makes better films IMO. :)
The fact that people and the media are talking about the BNP in any way is good news for them. The oxygen of publicity and all that.
I personally think they have a couple of good ideas but ridiculous ways of going about them, so I couldn't ever support them. I prefer to vote for someone not Labour who actually has a chance of winning. :)

As for the story, I reckon the Human Rights Act is the second most abused law on the Statute Book, right after the PACE Act. The law needs repeal or reform to take into account the Human Rights of the greater society as well as the individual. Sure, protect the Bolivian's right to a family life, as long as he isn't a burden on society.

The solicitor who represented the Bolivian, Barry O'Leary, told the Sunday Telegraph that the cat was one detail among many in the case.

And yet the mail didn't bother to tell us what the rest of these details were? There could have been 100 good reasons to let this person stay here.

Perhaps this is offtopic...

What is up with all the Labourbashing? From studying politics for a while and having quite a substantial chat with my tutors and lecturers, I cant understand that you think it would be Any different at all with the tories in charge. Britain seems to in the same curve as all the other major countries in the EU, with both major parties clashing closer together... Wouldnt really hope for such a huge change even with a new government....

Because we can see we are in a right mess but the government cant. There is also the big brother attitude of Labour, they don't trust us to live our own lives. Labour have forgotten that they exist to serve us, not the other way around. ID cards, the terrorism laws (See Big G's thread) Bullshit rules and regulations which are designed solely to keep civil servants in a job. Barefaced lies over how things are going, the wars, the NHS, crime, schools...all have their performance statistics massaged. A complete failure to keep any election pledge...ever. They have still not delivered on any of the promises they made when they got into power, let alone more recent promises.

In short they are a set of ***** who are utterly useless at everything they touch.

yep, tories may not be any better, but they also would have to try really really hard to be any worse than Labour. Brown's government is pretty much a dictatorship, we are told what is good for us with no attention paid to any protest.

I really wouldn't take anything the Daily Fail has to say as anything resembling truth, they lost any credibility they may have once had years ago.

Because we have been betrayed and let down by Labour, their dedication towards spin over substance, their determination to renege on election promises, the wars they have dragged us into, the police targets that they enforce, the decline of education standards, and so on.

We have not yet been betrayed by the Tories, at least, not in their current incarnation.

It may well be better the devil you know, but when you feel utter contempt for that devil, you don't give a damn. Labour understand that only too well - they campaigned under the famous song line "Things can only get better" - not a policy, not a political stance, just a gut feeling that it can't be any worse.

Well Labour took the reigns of an economy in excellent condition, and ruined it. As they always do.

They're reverting to socialist type. Watch out for Pigs On The Wing.

If you ignore party politics and just think logically it is time for a change of government - even if we assume the parties are all equally competant.

After 3 terms any party will run out of decent new ideas - these mostly come whilst in opposition - once your running a country your too busy at the tactical level to come up with new strategic ideas.

if you do a bit of digging, it seems the judge merely commented about the cat it was not the main reason for letting them stay.

And I bet it was reported 100% accurately with no bias at all. Especially not since it's the daily mail. Oh no.

I'm kinda hoping if I vote tory I'll see the point in working hard for a living to better my lot in life, and will hopefully be made to feel like less of a muppet who can't make decisions for himself. But then CMD jumped on the green bandwagon (completely out of form I must add) so the hope isn't as great as it should be.

Monster raving loony anyone?

Seriously. We've a 3 party system, one of which never gets voted for.

I've never voted Lib Dem. In fact, I've deliberately spoiled my ballot in the last two elections as they're all a shower of shit, but maybe next time. Just for the crack even?
